Callie's P.O.V.

"And class is dismissed!" Ms. Demitri shouted. I packed my bag and headed to the parking lot. My phone buzzed, and I grabbed it from my pocket as I walked to my car.

One new message from Al

Hey Cal you free later?

I smiled and texted him back.

Yeah, why?

I looked up from my phone and heard the car slam on its breaks before I felt darkness over come me.

Alec's P.O.V.
**************

I smiled and texted Cal back.

You wanna go to the park again tonight after a REAL dinner? :)

I sat there waiting for a response for over an hour, but nothing. I tried calling her, but the same thing, nothing.
Something's wrong, she always has her phone on her.
I tried calling her 4 times, on my 5th attempt a man answered.

"This is Callie's phone."

"Who are you?" I was worried, a man who I didn't recognize answered my girls phone.

"Callie's father, who are you?" My heart sank.

"Alec, now where is she?" I panicked, why the hell would he be with her.

"You didn't hear? Son, shes in the hospital. A hit and run." I dropped my phone and grabbed my keys. I raced to my car and drove to the hospital. I was going 15 over the speed limit, but I didn't care.

Callie could be dead.

Callie's P.O.V.

"Daddy, can I go to Al's?" My dad frowned, but nodded as he took a swig of whiskey. I ran off, my dress flaring up as I took off towards Al's house. I knocked on their nature worn door, and waited. No one answered so I ran back home, this time Henry was following me. I stopped and petted the orange tabby cat, his purrs were so calming. I got up and walked again. I saw Henry chasing a squirrel in the road, and a loud truck came barreling down the street. I ran into the road, and tried to save Henry but someone grabbed me and pulled me away. I watched as Henry was no longer a orange tabby cat, and now a bloody ball of orange fur.
"Callie, you almost got hit!" My sister scolded. My 5 year old self sobbing, and afraid. Her look softened, as she embraced me in a hug.

"Im sorry sissy, I didn't mean to make you mad!" I cried harder.

"Mad? You didn't make me mad, just worried. How could I be a big sister if my baby sister was squished by a truck?"
I giggled, and she let me go.

"I promise I won't leave you and let you not be a big sissy."

"And I promise to never leave you alone."

So much for that promise.
