Chapter 6

"I'll check it out. Watch Sera carefully" Annabeth told Piper as she walked out to see who was knocking.

Piper and I played Rock Paper Scissors while waiting for Annabeth. After Piper won in our game, Annabeth entered with someone behind her.

Nico.

"Sera, is it okay if Nico will take care of you while we take our meal in the pavilion?" Annabeth asked, like she was dealing with a little kid.

"Yeah" I answered in a hoarse voice.

Damn this sickness!

The girls exited the room leaving me with Death Breath. He actually brought some food for me.

How thoughtful!

"You hungry?" He asked.

I nod my head and he immediately put the tray in front of me. A bowl was filled with beef stew noodle soup. Another plate was filled with fresh fruits and I also have a glass filled with fresh orange juice. I started scooping some soup when Nico took the spoon from me.

"I was–"

"I'll do it for you" He said then started feeding me with food.

What's gotten into him???

Anyway....

I leaned on the head board, watching him as he blow the soup cold before giving it to me. He even wiped the dripping liquid for me.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked.

"I never get to do this to my sister whenever she was sick. It's always the other way around" He answered and according to his facial expression, he's referring to Bianca.

"So you see your sister in me?"

"No. I just want to– never mind" He stopped.

I didn't inquired more and let him do my supposed job.

It was already curfew when my siblings showed up. And Nico still didn't leave my side. He helped stood up whenever Mother Nature calls, he also watched Me Before You with me and now he's reading the book The One by Kiera Cass to me.

It's already the tenth time I read the book but it's the first time someone read it for me.

" 'Break my heart, Break it a thousand times if you like, it was only ever yours to break anyway' " He read. Nico paused before reading further.

Why does it sound so real whenever he reads Maxon's line?

It was already the epilogue when he stopped since Chiron was going to check on the other campers especially the one who's sick. It includes me!

"Good night, Sera"

I was going to say good night when he shadow traveled before I could speak.

"Good night, Death Boy" I whispered.

Andrei showed up and ushered me back inside my room with a smile on my face.
