My heart fell into my feet, crunching in on itself when I read the last ten words. I swore creatively and hurried to gather a sheet of paper and a pen. A tear dripped from my cheek as I scratched words on the paper, struggling to hold myself together, and it hit the letter with a pat. I tried to convince myself the Leader is trying his best. This is nothing like the Earth of old that we learnt about in our History lessons. I slashed the free falling tears off my cheek, the distraction smudging my words. I slapped the letter into an envelope and placed it into the Outgoing mail box. Determination crossed my features, like a lion honing in on a gazelle: I had made an oath in my letter to Kyran, an oath that I would not break. An oath to get to the bottom of who took beautiful Narelle, and personally punish them for wrenching Kyran's heart right out of his chest.
