"Hannah."
I jumped up at the voice and turned around to find a smiling Lily standing by my bedroom's door.
"How did you get in?" I asked surprisingly as I stood up and walked towards her.
"Well, looks like somebody forgot to close the door," she teased and I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion.
I tried to remember how I forgot to close the door. I went to the grocery store, suddenly I got some urgent work to do, I ran towards my apartment and quickly opened the door and went to the washroom.
Well... now you can't blame me for that, can you?
I gave her a small smile as I tried to find something to cover up, while Lily was standing there with her arms crossed and eyes narrowed.
"Uh, well... next time I won't forget to close the door, my majesty."
Lily shook her head and sat on the bed while I went back to sit on my chair. "So, what were you doing?" she inquired.
"I was dancing in the air. Didn't you see? I was everywhere on the headlines. 'Girl found dancing in the air in London'." I replied sarcastically.
"Okay, enough with the sarcasm. I know that you were writing your story's epilogue. I just wanted to hear it from your mouth," Lily puffed and rolled her eyes.
I chuckled as I turned in my chair to save my work before quickly shutting down the computer.
"Shall I get you something?" I asked, well knowing that she might be hungry.
"Some noodles along with Disney movies would be fine," she said grinning and I nodded before heading towards the kitchen.
---
We were currently sitting on the couch watching Frozen while Lily was eating her noodles. You might wonder why I mentioned only Lily, isn't it? Well...
"What did I tell you about eating, Ann?" Lily scolded while glaring at me.
"This is a free world. You can't control me. I can do whatever I want."
"This world is no doubt free, but the people living in it aren't. So I have every right to tell you to eat."
I rolled my eyes and shrugged as Lily grinned victoriously. "Tomorrow I'm giving you a treat, no excuses, it's final."
"Whatever," was what I muttered before we continued watching the movie.
After a lot of Olaf, Anna and Elsa we went inside my room and I was currently taking out my photo album.
"Do you really want to show me?" Lily asked me hesitatingly, worried if I might break down again.
"Well, I want to see it, so why to see alone?"
We sat on the bed as I opened the first page of the album. The first picture was of me as a ten day old baby. Lily started gushing about how cute I was, and I just gave her a small smile.
The second picture was of both me and Hail as ten days old, and Lily commented that we looked very much alike and wondered how mom and dad managed to differentiate between the two of us. I informed her that mom and dad made us wear small bands on our wrists so that there was no confusion.
The rest of the pictures were mostly of Hail and I, and sometimes me with my parents or my so called friends.
My mood started becoming better as I reminisced my time with Hailey, a person I counted on to in the worst of times. She always had my back, and I had hers. When we were both young, we couldn't even imagine a life without the other being in it.
And now? I don't even have to imagine, I am living a life without her in it. I could say it's just my body living, my soul has long left 10 years ago along with her soul.
Ever since her death, I have never truly experienced happiness, nor I ever will. I have become resistant to any sort of happy emotion, thinking that I can't be happy without Hailey. I shouldn't be happy. I feel guilty that I'm still breathing while she is six feet under.
The last page of the album had the picture of me and Hail, both of us 12 at that time, giving a side hug to each other on the beach and there was a beautiful sky behind us. It was probably the best picture of us.
My eyes became glossy as I stared at that picture, mostly at Hail. The both of us were the best of friends and there was nothing that could separate us.
But her death separated us, of course, which was my fault.
"Wow, you two are the exact copy of each other. The both of you have the same silky long light brown hair, dark chocolate brown eyes, height, and just everything same. I must applaud your parents for not getting confused between the two of you," Lily remarked just as I closed the album.
"I told you, they made us wear bands. I had the purple colored band and Hail had the blue one."
"But what if someone exchanged the bands? What if you're actually Hailey and your twin is Hannah?"
I laughed at that stupid assumption. "Oh no, I am Hannah. We also had some birth marks, and I got a small scar when I was a baby. See this thing here?" I moved a strand of my hair from my forehead and showed her my scar, which I usually hide with my hair.
"Oh, so you are Hannah," Lily said while staring at the scar.
"So, you became Harry Potter from being Hannah Montana?" Lily joked and I throw a pillow at her.
"Pillow fight!"
The both of us then started beating each other non-stop with the soft fluffy pillows. We weren't even getting hurt, but we still had fun. In the end a pillow was torn by Lily and all the feathers flew out of it, and we looked like angels covered in snow.
Wait, let me correct that. We looked like devils covered in snow with our hair sticking out in all directions.
"Your hair," Lily deadpanned stifling a laugh while pointing at my hair.
"Your hair," I stated while touching a part of her hair that was sticking out.
We looked at each other for a while before she burst out laughing and I smiled at her. I broke into giggles as well when she continued laughing like a hyena without having any intentions of stopping.
"Man that was fun. We should get into pillow fights often," I suggested once she recovered from her laughs.
"Yeah, I agree. I had fun too," Lily said cheerfully while smiling at me.
We talked about books, again, for some time before Lily left for her house. I cleaned the mess in my bedroom before I heard a voice from my stomach.
I looked down at my stomach for a while before I thought of eating something at last. I went to the kitchen and started making myself some pasta while praying on the inside that it shouldn't burn like it always does.
After I was done, I took my plate and sat on the couch before switching on the television. I got so lost in watching 'The Beauty and the Beast', that I left my pasta untouched.
An hour later I realized that I had to eat pasta and groaned when I felt that it had cooled completely. I placed it on the stove again and let it warm up for a while before turning off the stove.
I sat on the couch once again and took my plate. I was about to eat my pasta when I was interrupted by something. Goodness let me have something in my stomach for once!
I was interrupted from my pasta by the loud knock on the door at 9 'o' clock in the night.
