"Hannah?" The boy said as soon as I got up and took a step back.
"Cedric." I said and nodded.
He looked a little surprised because I didn't call him by the stupid nickname Hailey and I gave him as kids.
"Y-You're still alive," he stuttered as he stared at me with surprise with his blue eyes and I glared at him.
"Yeah, duh. Did you all assume that I was dead?"
"Well, yeah. You totally broke your contact with us. There was no way we could reach you."
"I have a request for you, cousin. Leave me alone because I really don't want to cross any of my family members when I finally found my true family here. Please leave. And kindly don't tell mom and dad that I am here."
Cedric remained silent for a while. He seemed to panic and started playing with his fingers.
Cedric is my father's brother's adopted son, also known as my step-cousin more like cousin. Hail, Cedric and I used to play a lot as kids. Then his family moved to New York and we hardly ever talked. He was very broken after Hailey's death and even he like everyone else blamed me for it.
So yeah, now he is one of my past enemies too.
"I think fate isn't really fair to you," he said suddenly and I looked at him in confusion.
"Mom and dad decided that we should go somewhere and have a nice winter vacation. They even invited your parents to come, and we all planned to come here to London because we couldn't go to Australia because Hannah was there."
I widened my eyes when I heard what he said. I said in a state of shock, "That means..."
"Yes, Ham. Your parents are here."
Your parents are here. Your parents are here. My parents are here. They, who blamed and abandoned me and made my past life like hell, are here.
I stood still like a statue. As if life hadn't given me enough that I got this new situation to handle.
"Hannah," Cedric whispered but I ignored him.
"They need you, Hannah. They-"
"I really don't want to have this talk here. It's better if we talk about this in my flat." I cut him off and he remained silent for a while before nodding.
I dialled Lily's number and after a few rings she picked up.
"Ann! Where are you?! It's been more than half an hour since I called you, and till now you haven't reached? Wait, your apartment isn't too far from my place, is it? No, I have visited you many times, and so did you to me, and it's not that long. Oh wait! Are you stuck I'm traffic? Maybe yeah, you are. So-"
"Lily. Stop your blabbering for once. You must get an award for talking so much. Anyway, I can't make it to your house, I got some work to do. I'll call you later."
"Hmm... It's okay. You can do whatever you want. Bye," she said before ending the call and I didn't miss the hurt in her voice.
I groaned when I realized I've got a new issue to solve. I looked at Cedric and sighed before telling him to follow me and made my way back to the apartment.
Once we've safely reached my flat, I asked him to sit on the couch and went inside my room. I made sure all the letters were hidden and there was no sign of M.
"Wow. Nice place, but a messy one too," Cedric commented as he looked around.
"Thanks and thanks," I said simply as I sat on the couch as well.
