New Years

"Hurry up, babe! I need to shower too!" Dinah yells as she bangs on the bathroom door with her fist. "I'm just doing my makeup, Dinah. Calm down." I say, hoping she will chill out. "Can you please just unlock the door then so I can shower? You've seen me naked many times before!" she yells and I chuckle as I open the door so she can take a shower.

"Thank you! We're so going to be late." Dinah exaggerates as she starts to undress. "Whatever. Just hurry up!" I tell her as she steps into the shower and I put the finishing touches to my makeup. Lauren is throwing a huge New Years party at some club she rented out. Obviously Lauren had invited Dinahand I and just like always we are going to be late.

I was making lunch today, then Dinah scared me, and soon we were having a tickle fight and then we lost track of time. As Dinah finished her shower, I slightly curled my hair. Once my hair is done, I spend a few minutes in front of my closet deciding what to wear. "Where the black dress." Dinah whispers in my ear after sneaking up on me. "Fuck! Dinah! You scared me." I say before reaching for the black dress. Dinah lets out a chuckle and changes into her outfit of choice too.

"Zip me up, please?" I ask, turning so my back is facing Dinah. She scoops my hair to the side, gently zipping up my dress. Once my dress is zipped up, Dinahpresses a gently kiss to my bare shoulder. "You look absolutely beautiful." She says and soon we're off to Lauren's party.

"Dinah! You're late." Lauren says as she spots us walking in to the venue. "Yeah man. She took forever to get ready." Dinah jokes, motioning towards me with her thumb. "Whatever. Sorry we're late, Laur." I say, greeting Lauren with a kiss to the cheek.

"It's fine, babe. You look gorgeous." Se says and I blush slightly. "Aye. No making my girlfriend blush." Dinah scoffs a joking tone apparent in her voice. "Yeah, yeah. Just go get some drinks, mate." Lauren says and I chuckle as Dinah places a hand on my lower back and leads me to the bar. "Oh! There's Ally and Normani !" I exclaim as I see her talking to Normani.

"Go chat to them, I'll get us some drinks and then I'll be right there." Dinah promises, kissing my cheek before we part our ways. I start talking to Normani and Ally and soon I get whisked away by more of our friends, forgetting that Dinah promised me a drink. Ten minutes to midnight, I'm deep in conversation with Lauren and two of her friends when I feel a familiar pair of hands on my waist. "I was looking for you." Dinahsays and I smile at her.

"Me too but I soon gave up." I say and she kisses my cheek again. "The countdown is starting soon, I'm thinking about kissing that gorgeous girl at midnight." Dinah whispers, pointing over to a woman who looks old enough to be her mother.

I laugh but go along with it.

"I'm sure she'd be very excited to hear that." I say and Dinahbreaks into a smile.

"I love you so much." She whispers in my ear as I hear the countdown starting.

And then my lips are pressed against Dinah's.

"Perfect way to start the New Year." Dinah states as she hugs me even closer.

"I agree."
