The next day seemed very normal. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. But this was no ordinary day. The picking was today. Chase was very nervous. He said," I am in this drawing 137 times. The odds are not in my favor. Gabby whined," What if I get picked!" "Don't worry," Chase said. You are in it only once." As we went down to the town center, the tensions were rising. Everybody between the ages of 10 and 20 were wondering if they were going to get picked to most likely die.
