Perrie's POV

"Is there any cereal at home, babe?" I asked into the phone. We ran out of food about two days ago. I know it's really bad, but Zayn had work and I was wiped out. I managed to get myself out of bed to go grocery shopping, though, so that's good!

"I think so, but can you get me some Lucky Charms anyways?" Zayn asked. I could hear his class getting fussier as each minute passed by. I don't understand how he could handle it. "Kay, anything else?" I asked, scanning for the box. I quickly grabbed it off the shelf and threw it in the cart.

"Yeah! Can you make dinner for tonight? I know I usually make it, but some of my colleagues are coming over." I nearly dropped my cell as he spoke those words. Cook? But I can't cook! And why are his coworkers coming over? There's nothing special going on is there?

"Zayn," I warned him. I don't want to have his friends' blood on my hands when they die from my terrible cooking. "Please, babe! I'm sorry I didn't tell you yesterday! I forgot!"

"Zayn!" I repeated, frustrated at him now.

"Gotta go, babe! Love you!" and the line went dead. I swear I am going to kill him when he gets home.

I put back the Lucky Charms in its place. No cereal for you, I thought. Yes, that's probably childish, but who cares! I'm acting purely on hormones. It's totally allowed. I sigh, pushing my cart along. What else do I need? I had my eggs, two bottles of milk...hmmm maybe I should get some ingredients for dinner.

I pushed my cart along until I made it to the deli section. Now, what's cheap and easy to make? I scanned through the products until my eyes landed on frozen burger patties. Yeah, I think that's good enough. I reached over to grab the product, but it was snatched before I could even touch it. "Hey, that's mine!" I yelled, ready to tear it from the person's hand.

"Sorry," It was Jade.

I awkwardly looked down at my feet before making eye contact again. "Here," she says, handing over the patties. I grinned, a little delighted, taking the patties and tossing them in my cart. "Thanks," I tell her. I was about to leave when she spoke again.

"So whatcha making?" she grabbed her cart and lines it up with mine.

"Uhm, burgers for Zayn and his friends." I shrug. She just nods, looking around the meats before picking up something she was happy with. "Hey, aren't you supposed to be a vegetarian or something?" I ask, curiously. She used to be really butt hurt about it too. I remember when I gave her some chicken nuggets when she came over my house, she flipped out and had a big rant about it.

She just shrugged. "It was a phase, I guess." I couldn't help but giggle and shake my head. I wonder what made her change her mind.

"Well, I'll see you -."

"Wait, since when did you cook?" Jade asked, pulling me back in the conversation. I would be lying if I said I wasn't too pleased about it. I snorted, putting my hand on my hip. "Is it that hard to believe that I can cook?" She arched her brow at me as if to say yes.

"Jade!" I gasped, lightly slapping her arm. She burst out laughing at the fit I was having. I love how we  could easily  joke around. Like everything was fine.

"Okay, you got me. Zayn usually does the cooking. I'm praying I won't poison any of his friends. Hopefully, the odds are in my favor right?" I say, legitimately praying I won't poison anyone. That'd be the most embarrassing thing. I might just move into my mother's basement, and never see the light of day again.

"Well, I can help you, if you want?" Jade offers, catching me by surprise. She looked at me with a bit of hope. I really don't know if I should. I mean, we can't ignore what had happened in the past. But then again, we can leave it there, right? I nervously bit the inside of my cheek before shrugging. "Sure, you can come over later? Here," I hand her my phone. "I'll text you my address." She smiled, taking my phone, and punching her number in. She quickly handed it to me before we parted ways.

I guess I'll be seeing Jade later then. Hopefully, this doesn't blow up in my face later on.
