Desiret and I spent the rest of the day talking about Derek. We goofed off like regular teenage girls and I almost felt normal again. I broke up with Miles and he hugged me before leaving to go on a walk. I hoped that Derek wouldn't care because I didn't really want to fight with him about that. Miles came back and hung out with us. He was still hurting, but wanted to move past it by being my best friend again. We all went out into town and checked it out. Desiret and Miles wanted to go into the club, but I convinced them it was boring and not worth their time. When we returned home we were tired and went to crash. Desiret and Miles slept in the living room on blow up mattresses and I went to my room. Derek did as he said and came in to spend the night with me.
"I hope you know that I can still smell him on you." Derek said as he curled up around me. I sighed heavily and I felt him smirk. "Don't worry I'm not going to make a big deal about it because I heard you break up with him, but I still don't want him touching you." I groaned and kicked at his legs so he would shut up. "Okay I'll let you sleep, but stop kicking me. For a person who cares so much about other people's opinions you sure are violent." Derek went to say something else but the words slipped away as I was overtaken by sleep.

"Lauren, are you going to school today?" Uncle's voice came in muffled through the door. I groaned and rolled over to look at the time. It was five o'clock and everyone else besides Uncle and I were probably still asleep.
"No, I think I'm just going to stay home today." I was still groggy and I didn't know if he could hear me through the door. I heard his footsteps head back down the hallway and I took it he heard me.
"Is he going to work?" I heard Derek ask from behind me. I had forgotten he was there and jumped up startled. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay, I just forgot that you were there and yes he's going to work." I let out a deep breath and leaned my head against the wall.
"Are you going to go back to bed?" I looked at him out of the corner of my eye. Did he really think I could just go back to sleep after getting scared half to death.
"No I'm not going back to sleep Derek."
"Want to do something?"
"Like what?" I asked hesitantly getting off the wall to look him in the eye.
"Do you trust me?"
"No"
"You know that really hurts my feelings I think I just might cry." Derek said sarcastically as he held his hand over his heart. "Well I guess I'm just going to have to make you come with me."
"My friends are going to wake up; I don't want to just leave them here."
"We'll be back before they wake up I promise. Now let's go little wolf." He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the window. Once off the bed I sat down on the floor like a child who didn't want to leave a store. "Really Lauren, you're going sit on the floor."
"First of all, I'm not little or a wolf for that matter and second, I'm not going out the window you crazy freak. Normal people use doors not second story windows."
"You're mad because I called you little," Derek said raising his eye brows while I glared at him, "and doors are boring so let's go." He pulled me up and wrapped his arms around me. Once on the porch roof he picked me up. "Ready?"
"Are you out of your mind I have neighbors and you are going to give me a heart attack."
"Your neighbors aren't up because I would be able to hear them and it's not like you weren't dangling from this exact spot on Saturday so don't give me that crap about a heart attack." Derek moved to the edge and I looked down at the ground. It looked so far down and I gripped Derek tightly. "Close your eyes... little wolf." He whispered smirking. I was too scared to close my eyes and Derek jumped straight down. His feet hit the ground and I felt my heart stop. He put me down and my heart began to beat again.
