"What did you just say to me?" My voice was cool and calm, but that was not how I felt. My body was slowly regaining sensation in it. Nick just smirked not saying anything else. He turned on the cameras but made no move to get anything from the cabinets. Blood was pooling out of the long gashes that stretched across his face. His chest was heaving from the exertion of our fight and I watched as a red stain grew larger on his chest from where I had dug in my nails.

"That's what he calls you isn't it? I bet you're wondering how I know that. Well I would like to hear your theories."

"Don't play with me Nick, how did you know that?" My teeth were clenched and my hands balled into fists against the restraints. Where was Derek, my Derek? He didn't come home, he never does that. Nick pulled up a chair and sat down studying me.

"You really are a fool aren't you? To think that you actually thought you were protecting him. That I wouldn't go after him because you were sacrificing yourself for him. Poor little fool, did you really think he wouldn't know you were lying?"

"What do you mean, where is he?" Something worse than fear was overwhelming me, it wasn't fear for myself, it wasn't fear it all, it was grief. Nick couldn't be that stupid; if he wanted me then Derek had to remain safe.

"Poor little Lauren, no one's here to save you. Your cop Uncle couldn't and you werewolf mate came too late. I was too close for it to matter. I just needed you one more time and I wouldn't need you anymore. He guessed I was the cause of your pain, I'm assuming he saw your skin. We had history me and him, and I guess we did too." He smirked again and paid no attention to the blood that was running down his cheek all the way to his neck. The blood on his shirt was still seeping into the fabric.

"What are you talking about history?" I squeaked out, holding back the fear as best I could. I didn't like where this was going, but I needed to know what he was talking about. I wouldn't let him have the upper hand even though I was sure he already had it.

"The night you came to this town you hit a dog that ran out in front you truck. It had been running from something and little did you know you had looked right at what he was running from. He was running from me, Lauren, and you got in the way. I should have killed him right then but you took that away from me and then you went and brought him right to me. Did you really think I would waste the shot again?" My heart sank in my chest, it couldn't be true, he couldn't have done it, Derek couldn't be dead. Tears welled in my eyes and blurred my vision. "Don't be upset Lauren; it's thanks to you he got to live as long as he did. He found his mate and made her his perfect little monster. Just think if you had taken another road, if you would have been a little bit later, he would have never had any of that. He would have died without finding his one purpose in this world and he would have died a dog run down on the road. You changed his life with that one hit, but it was not meant to be. You were not meant to exist and the fact is once I use you I will reunite you with your precious Derek."

"You're lying; I won't let you manipulate me anymore." I fought down the tears and instead focused on the anger.

"Let me make this perfectly clear for you, your mate came here looking for you. I took my gun, placed it against his skull, and pulled the trigger. He fell to the ground and I took him out to the trash. He's probably in some junk yard right now getting eaten by..."

"STOP!" I growled cutting him off. My eyes felt like they were burning in my eye sockets as the shifted to their bright blue form. My muscles twitched under my skin as I felt fire flow through my veins. My hands balled into fists as my long claws dug into my own palms. The muscles in my legs flexed leaving nothing but power behind them. My wrist strained under the restraints that bound me to that chair. Metal burned into my skin as its icy steel contrasted the fire that was burning through me and fighting against the rock solid material. The tension against my wrist was causing my hands to shake but still I pushed back. Then in one moment the pressure was released as the metal hit the ground breaking the silence with its loud clattering against the concrete floor.

Nick took a shaky step backward as we held our eyes locked together. The tears still ran streams down my face but their gaze was frozen cold. I kicked each leg once and my leg restraints gave way and snapped like a child breaking a stick. My face no longer held emotion as I was hollow and numb. I stood up slowly and as soon as I was out of the chair my body hunched over. The heat of my skin eating away at my flesh and my bones transforming beneath my skin, my vision became black as I was forced to shut my eyes to control the pain. When I looked back up at Nick I saw him from a lower point of view.

My paws moved slowly as I planted them to the ground, one at a time creating emphasis on each one. My tail switched against the floor as I held it low. There was no need to hold it high, I knew who was in control of the situation here and it wasn't Nick, not anymore. The hair along my back raised and my hackles followed their lead showing of my very long canines that aligned perfectly against the other teeth of my locked jaws. My focus stayed on Nick who was standing with his back against the door cautiously studying me with a look of surprise seeping through his eyes. I licked my glistening teeth with my tongue, the saliva clinging to my teeth in webs as they parted. As soon as my tongue had disappeared back behind my teeth a light began to create glow around the room.

As I looked down at my paws I realized the light was being emitted off my fur. Its pale blue light shone brightly against my brown fur. Nick's eyes widened as he saw the light. I saw my reflection in the shiny metal of a cabinet, my eyes were completely blue and no pupil or iris was present, just blue. My coat was glistening with what looked like moonlight. As I was distracted by my reflection Nick thought it would be a good idea to make a move, the only problem was I still saw him in the reflection. The taser was gripped tight in his hand as he ran at me from the side. I snapped my head to look at Nick and my eyes widened as the blue light around me grew brighter. As soon as Nick touched the light his body halted and then was thrown back. His body hit the wall as I took the opportunity to make my escape. I looked at the locked door and the light grew brighter again hitting the door and flinging it open.

I didn't waste any more time and dashed out the now open door. I hopped up the stairs take three to four steps at a time, the light vanishing from around me and my eyes returning to their regular werewolf eyes. Once up stairs I followed the halls to the front door. I jumped up and went right through the glass. The shards of glass glistened in the light of the rising sun. My front paws hit the ground and I was already moving into a run before my back ones had even made it to the ground. Nick's gun range became smaller behind me as I ran further and further away. I stopped at the edge of the woods and looked back at what had been my Hell. I was never going back, goodbye Nick, I hope you rot. I smiled as I thought of my freedom. I wagged my tail and disappeared into the trees.
