Casimir POV
I felt the shift in Skylar.
I saw it.
So did the boys.
As soon as we left Estonia, she became quieter.
Colder.
Distant.
I was worrying. She wasn't acting the same. And I knew it was pressure and fear that was causing her to change.
We don't stay in one place for long.
We normal sleep in the car, take turns driving, and eat off small diners we see on the way.
Sky was now driving. I sat in the passenger seat. Nik and Ethan in the back, fast asleep like the pigs they are.
"Why do you never hug us back?" I blurted out randomly. Her eyes widened.
Finally! A reaction!
She narrowed her eyes.
"Sky please."
She rolled her eyes. But I could see her eyes soften.
"The last person I hugged was Emilia. My little sister."
My mouth opened in an 'o' shape. That's why!
I gave her a small smile.
"I didn't know you had a sister." I attempted conversation.
"Yeah well you took off before she was born." Her voice cold and sharp. It felt like little icicles digging into my skin and leaving behind frostbite.
I swallowed.
"I know. And I'm..."
She held up a hand, forcing me to stop.
"I don't want an apology Casimir. I want you to understand that what we had? It may never be the same again." She snapped.
I winced when she called me Casimir. I was no longer Cas.
I was Casimir to her.
And that's when I knew it.
Skylie? The girl I loved like a sister, was slipping away.
She was falling through my hands.
And I was scared.
Because I knew that maybe... I'll never get her back.___________________________
