Chapter 10
~~ Alice
I wasn't even sure what to think! one second I was in the apartment with Kyle, the next he was walking through the front door!! Who did I bring home? I questioned myself. I began to wring my hands absentmindedly, an old habit I have been trying to brake since I was younger.
My mind flashed back to the day I first moved into the house beside Kyle. I vaguely remember another boy there, but he was gone after a few weeks, who could he be? cousin? friend? brother? I couldn't imagine Kyle having a brother but the looks made me re-concider, I could only stare at the two, they looked like the two sides of a mirror, not a single difference between them, copper eyes, brown hair identically clinging to their left cheeks, and their faces showed opposite emotions, the first of the two, -the one I took home, looked upset, shocked and troubled at the sight of the other, this face showed confusion, then immediate recognition. Then there was the one in the doorway, he was schocked, but happy and hopeful.
"What's going on?" I asked, yearning to know the truth.
I didn't even get a glance my way, the two were focused on eachother, their eyes wide. I was used to being ignored, but this time- I wanted to know what was going on. Since Kyle was involved, it was automatically important. My limbs began to grow hot with a building fire inside of me.
"L-Liam?" Stammered the boy in the doorway,
The name sounded so firmiliar but I couldn't remember where I herd it last.
"God- Kyle!" the second announced, and like they were magnets, the two held each other in a tight embrace. The fact that both were ignoring me made my temper brake loose.
"Will someone explain to me what is going on!!" I screeched as loud as I could, stomping my foot on the ground like a toddler as the words escaped my mouth.
The two ignored me once again, just looking at each other like they've known each other for years, I assumed they did. Tiny gears turned in my mind to create the perfect image of reality- Liam and Kyle were twins, kyle's mother and brother left him with Eddie.
"Oh my god" I whispered as I pieced together what was going on.
I couldn't help but feel hate towards Kyle's brother, Liam. He ran away, left Kyle alone, stranded on a lonely island of pain while him and his mother lived a happy life, one that didn't end in bruises and stitches. Liam should have done something, to save his own brother, but he ran, like the coward he is.They both turned to me, finally noticing my presence, it made my bones shake since I couldn't tell the two apart, I didn't want to lose Kyle at all. They both smiled at the same time, their grins equally as melting, but one was different, one was the one I was used to seeing over and over again. I knew, that this one was mine. I walked over to Kyle's side, he put his arm around me and took me towards the couch,
"C'mon Liam, you've gotta explain what happened." Kyle's face seemed to turn into stone, but Liam obeyed and sat opposite to us. His facial expressions twisted around him, showing hatred yet love, sadness yet a smile rested upon his lips. I couldn't place what was real. I snuggled up closer to Kyle, his arm quickly wound around me,
I couldn't help but be intrigued by the story Liam was about to tell, I wasn't sure how to feel towards him. Of course, I was enraged, I could almost feel my ignited bones, but, there was also the feeling of remorse that crossed me, I felt bad for him, the way he reacted to seeing his brother after so long made him feel terrible about himself. I stared at him intently, analyzing his expression maliciously, seeing his discomfort, yet he seemed to have to force himself to tell us, or at least Kyle, what happened so many years ago. He closed his eyes, his crooked smile immediately turned to a frown. he took a deep breath, and began...
