Chapter twelve
~~Alice
I herd the front door click shut.
"Kyle, kyle," I whispered as I shook him violently, trying desperately to wake him,
I was panicked, it could be a burgaler, someone coming to kill us, Eddie, the list wore on in my head.
He let out a groan and turned over, his back to me.
'He's coming for you' Eliza's shrill voice rang in my head.
"I think he's here" I said a little louder then anticipated.
Kyle's entire body froze. He sat up slowly and looked at me with wide eyes, he knew, deep inside, I was right.f
"Your kidding." his voice was solid.
I shook my head, tears falling down my face. He pushed the blankets away, revealing his exposed chest, bruises were slowly beginning to fade. He took me in his arms,
"He won't get you" his voice was uncertain, chills shook my spine.
We looked at each other as we herd the steady Thump Thump Thump of a heavy boots climbing up the stairs.
"Oh my god" I whispered and clung to him, scared for my life.
I buried my face in his chest, he stroked my hair soothingly, we both knew inside that this was the end. I was going to get snatched. I knew what I had to do to protect the people Kyle loved. I peeled away from his arms, he looked confused. I leaned in and kissed him, my hands holding his head, softly combing his hair with my nails. Tears were pouring off my cheeks and onto his. His lips were warm, soothing. I would miss them.. I broke away and stood up.
"Don't you dare move," I threatened and pointed my finger at him.
His face showed me that he still didn't understand, I was glad, this way. No one could stop me.
"I love you, Kyle" I whispered.
The last words I would most likely ever say to him, were words he didn't understand the reasoning behind. I let out a deep sigh, holding his copper eyes with mine. I turned away from him and opened the door that separated me from my father. I stepped out and came face to face with his wild grin, his eyes were wide, something you would see off of a 'Jeff the killer' sketch.
I pretended to look shocked, just so I wouldn't have to willingly go with him. His face lit up and in seconds his hand was covering my mouth, stopping any potential screams from getting out. He pushed me, making me go before him, I quickly did as he wanted, knowing inside I would be dead if I didn't. He opened the door quickly, I screamed as loud as I could. I herd Liam and Kyle's doors open quickly, their feet storming down the stairs a little too late, by the time they got outside, I was being stuffed into the back seat of an old truck. Kyle and I locked eyes, I managed to mouth 'I love you' before my father sped off. Looking back, I saw him with his head in his hands, probably crying, my fragile heart shattered into millions of tiny shards.
I began to sob, unable to contain my tears, Kyle was gone, and I would probably be killed.
"Where are you taking me." I asked, sitting up with much difficulty,
"In taking you home, sweetheart."
I cringed at his words. 'home' I never truly had a home, it was always just a house to me. A home should hold happy souls, laughter, trust. I never had that, only betrayal and tears.
He kept looking back at me with thirsty eyes, he drank me in with every glance. I hugged myself, realizing a was wearing Kyle's shirt. I inhaled his scent, his cologne sticking in the air around me. I let out a shaky sigh, exhaling deeply.
