Chapter 14
The next day...
Riker POV
I was shaking a little as we walked into the lounge. This is it...
"Riker, just stay calm, ok? Just stay calm, and everything will be ok. If it hurts, leave the bathroom, and sit next to me. We can tell Matt you hit your head or something, ok? Everything will be fine. It's just one punch. You can do this," Ericka whispered.
"Ok... I'll try..."
I looked at the guy I was doing the trade off with. He sort of nodded at me, got up, and went to the bathroom.
I got up, and walked over to the bathroom.
"You need to wait," one of the nurses said.
"I can't wait! I have to go!" I whined, jumping up and down a little.
"Fine. Make it quick."
I ran inside the bathroom, and saw the guy. He handed me a tiny bag. I slipped it into my pocket.
"Alright. I get one punch."
I just nodded a little.
"Do you have a preference where you want to get punched?"
"U-um... W-what are my options?"
"Face, head, stomach, back, shoulder."
"Um..."
I didn't want there to be a bruise. And I was pretty sure I wouldn't get a bruise if I picked stomach.
"I guess... stomach..."
"Alright. Stand against the wall."
I stood with my back to the wall. And within seconds, I felt intense pain in my stomach. The guy left, and I fell to my knees on the bathroom tiles, trying not to groan in pain. I wrapped my arms around my stomach, and just tried to ease the pain.
I knew I had to come out though. Otherwise they'll be suspicious.
I walked out slowly, keeping my hands around my stomach.
"Are you ok?" One of the nurses asked.
"Yeah. Just a really bad stomachache," I said, making my way over to Ericka.
I sank down in the couch, next to her.
"You ok?"
"I don't know."
"Where'd you get punched? Your stomach?"
I nodded.
"It'll feel better soon."
I leaned my head on her shoulder. I was really tired, and in pain, and I just wanted to sleep.
Later...
Riker POV
"What do we do now?" I asked, sitting on Ericka's bed.
"We'll do it tomorrow. When Matt takes us to go to group therapy, you'll just run and pretend you got scared. I'll go down to his office, and plant the drugs somewhere, and I'll meet you guys back at group therapy before you get back so Matt doesn't know."
"Ok... Ugh! I'm so scared though!"
"Why? All you have to do is run and pretend you got scared. I'm the one who has to actually put the drugs in his office."
"I just don't want you to get in trouble because of me."
"I'm sure it'll be fine, Riker."
"Ok..."
The next day...
Ericka POV
Riker was shaking a little. I knew he was nervous about today.
Matt came in to take us to group therapy. Here we go...
I walked on one side of Matt, and Riker walked on the other.
Right as we got close to the group therapy room, Riker screamed, and took off running down the hall. I started running the other way, towards the evaluation room.
I looked in the little window on the door, and luckily for me, nobody was inside. I tried the door, and it was unlocked. I put the drugs in one of his desk drawers, closed it, and ran out. I ran back to the group therapy room, and sat down. A few minutes later, Riker sat down next to me.
Later...
Riker POV
"So how'd it go?" I asked, once we were back in our bedroom.
"Um... Good. I put it in one of his desk drawers. How'd it go with you?"
"Good. I ran back here, and just told Matt I got scared."
"Ok... But now we have to tell someone we saw drugs in his office."
"We can tell Matt."
"Ok."
We waited until Matt came to bring us dinner.
"Matt, can we talk to you?" I asked.
"Yeah. What's up?"
"Ok... So when I went to my evaluation... Um... I saw... drugs in his room."
"What?"
"I saw drugs."
"Riker, are you absolutely sure?"
"Yes."
"You know you can't just say things, right? You could get in serious trouble for saying he has something if he doesn't."
"Matt, I am positive I saw drugs on his desk."
"Alright, well... Thanks for telling me. I'm going to go talk to my manager."
"Ok."
Matt left.
"Do you think it's going to work?" I asked.
"Hopefully. I mean... Hopefully they'll call the police, the police will come, and they'll find the drugs in his desk. So... If they do, then I think he'll get fired."
"Alright..."
"So now we have to play the waiting game..."
"I hate that game. A lot."
