you laughed and
it was like a thousand moonlights
sparkling in the air like
the shimmering residue of the most wonderful dream
come true.
your warm, ethereal aura left
an imprint on my heart;
your laughter became my favourite song
the melody fading, crystallised
in my mind,
fleeting glances of a star, stolen
as you enter the room.
she stole the universe from me, unknowingly, casually, as though it were nothing
she ripped the star from my sky without apology
now I scan my heart for trace luminescence,
residue of the thousand moonlights
and I scan the corridors for you
but your radiance never illuminates
my path anymore.
how can I miss someone
I did not have time to get to know?
- someone whose beauty is as infinite and indescribable
as the galaxies that sculpted it.
all I know is I miss your laughter,
and we should go for coffee together sometime
but I know I'll never ask
because you are a thousand moonlights,
and I am just a single star.
