0.
You close your eyes
And I start to run away
1.
You count to ten
And I hide from you
2.
A few heartbeats more
As I wait just long enough to hear the stream of numbers stop
3.
You look around, momentarily blinded by the bright morning sun
I run again and all I can see is a dull and muted darkness
4.
You search behind the colourful slide
But I'm hiding behind the grey one
5.
You peek around the ever-green tree
And I'm leaning against the bare and skeletal one
6.
You keep looking for me and your face grows angrier and angrier with each passing minute
I keep tiptoeing around without making a sound
7.
You crush the grass with your feet
And with every time my heart slams against my ridcage I'm a step closer to freedom
8.
You scream
And I don't like this game anymore
9.
You look so lost as you stand there in the middle of the playground
I inhale deeply, the air finally fresh and clean
10.
I take one last look back
And my unsaid goodbye echoes in the silence
