Chapter 6
Jayden's POV
*The next day*
My body ached with pain.
I hadn't caught up with sleep in 2 days, and I've been having nightmares lately. I feel like something is going to... happen. And not in a good way.
*knock knock*
My head snapped and I realized I was back in my room. My vision was blurred, but it became clearer 5 seconds later.
"Hey, Jayden, you up?" Jacob's voice vibrated through my room.
"Erm...ugh...yeah." I shook my head and sat up.
"Oh...okay... your dad needs to see you, its kinda important." I could tell that Jacob was trying to sound calm. What was up with him?
"Okay... I'll be up in like 10 minutes." I dragged myself up, and Jacob's footsteps faded. As I fumbled through my closet, a white piece of paper was slid through my door. I walked towards the door, and picked the paper up. I unfolded it and the note read:
Hey,
Sorry for leaving you in my room alone.
It was because, you know
Needed blood...
Just letting you know, I don't hunt humans
So don't worry about your people
I wouldn't dare hurt them.
Anyway, your dad is looking for you and
its erm... urgent. See you later.

What is so important that my dad needs to tell me? I folded up the paper and slid it into my drawer. I tied my hair into a messy ponytail. My side bangs slowly slid down to cover my left eye. It used to be annoying, but I got used to it.

Zach's POV
This freaking waiting is so boring. When the hell is she going to come??
Then, as if my prayers had been answered, Jayden came into the room. His Majesty's (Jayden's dad) library was like his most sacred place. It was the only place where he could go to, to forget the...loss of his most beloved wife. This was one of the many things my father had told me before I had left my kingdom to come here.
His Majesty sat on the high chair and everyone else was scattered around the table. Jayden came around the whole table and sat in the last seat available, the one in front of me.
"I'm here dad, so what did you want to discuss about?" Jayden asked, clearly confused. I grinned.
"Well, my darling, I wanted to discuss the future of our kingdom. You are my only child, therefore the heir to this throne. But you also need a partner at your side." His Majesty's tone was calm yet serious at the same time. Jayden just eyed her father with the same confusion that she had when she walked in this room.
"You need a...husband, my dear. We aren't exactly at peace with the Vampire Kingdom, there has been some rivalry during the years. As king, I need to settle this and make peace." The king's voice turned softer as he took Jayden's hands, "I have requested that King Valric send his heirs here. I wouldn't want to force you into this, but its for the best. I want you to get to know them better. Please, Jayden this is what has to be done."
It seemed as if the king planned to talked to Jayden throughout the whole meeting. Why the hell did he have to bring us here too?
Jayden was clearly in shock, and her jaw dropped. It looked like she was having a hard time taking this all in, and her thoughts were as great either.

Jayden's POV
Omg, omg, omg, omg, omg. Why me. Married to a vampire? Me? If my dad had been paying attention to my life, he would have figured that apparently, I'm not a fan of vampires.
My father looked at me with guilt and sadness in his eyes. I guess he knows that this is a whole lot of pressure for me. Everyone else just looked at me, waiting for me to speak. Lily bit her lip and looked down.
"When?" I managed to say.
"Next month or two." Zach's smooth voice came. He seemed so calm, and gave me an innocent smile. What the freaking hell? No, this is a dream, right? My dad would never make me do this, right? RIGHT? I pinched myself. I felt a small jolt of pain on my shoulder. Nope I'm awake alright.
"Zachary, Jacob, Cameron, and Dylan are actually the heirs. Benjamin and the girls are just company. I hope you don't take this as a lot of shock." My father's voice brought me back to reality, "You still need to pick an escort to the ball. It is coming up in 3 days, my dear. Your all dismissed."
I was the first one to get out of the library. I was halfway down the stairs, when a cold hand laid on my shoulders, pulling me back. I had thought it was Jacob, but when I turned around, it was none other than Zach.
"So, I heard you need a date to your ball thingy." His sexy eyes pierced into mine, "If your not taken yet, I'm all yours." I cocked an eyebrow.
"And what would make you think I would go with you?" I tried to avoid eye contact but it was kinda hard.
"Well, for starters, I'm irresistible." He leaned in closer. His lips looked so soft and I had a sudden urge to...kiss him. Wait, HELL NO. Whats with these stupid thoughts? He's just probably trying to mess with my head. That cocky bastard.
He chuckled and leaned even closer until he was an inch away from my face. His golden-brown hair fell down to his eyes. Then all of a sudden, some blonde girl came our way. I recognized her as Lizzy's friend. What was her name...Katie?
"Zachy!! What are doing talking to the mutt?" she whined. Um...hello?? I'm like right here.
Zach turned to face her. "Oh, Kaylee erm... aren't you suppose to be with Liz?"
"Oh, she ditched me to find Jake, so I thought I could spend sometime with you." She pushed out her chest, and "accidentally" rubbed her breasts against his chest.
"Yeah... no thanks." Zach pushed her aside, and gave me a wink before walking down the stairs. I quietly giggled to myself. Katie, or whatever her name gave me a pissed off glare for a moment and ran off after Zach. What was with that slut, did she like not notice that he wasn't interested? What do I care, I don't like him anyway.
It was Tuesday, so I should probably find Mary and check up on what she was doing. But before that, I wanna go visit mama's favorite place in the whole castle. Her garden.
