Chapter 21 - Tell Her

Amina's POV:

"I'm home!" I could hear Alisha yelling when she got into the living room.

"Hey A, um can I-- talk to you for a second? I have something important to tell you." I told her with a serious expression.

"Um, yeah sure. Do I need to be worried?" She looked concerned, but curious.

"No, but I just have to tell you something, something about me, my past." I confessed.

"Okay, I'm here." She told me.

So I told her everything I told Marcus before, she just listened and asked a few questions in between. But all was well.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"I don't know. I guess it never came up, I mean I never told anyone. Well Marcus, but that was the first time the memories came all back up. All these years of pushing everything away was a huge mistake." I said.

"Yeah, I understand and I'm really happy you told me. I used to think that there was always something wrong or weird about you, when I first met you. Weird how we ended up moving in and becoming such close friends." Alisha said.

"Yeah, that's true." I replied. We laughed a little while going back to last year, to everything that happened and changed us.

"Now away with the laughter, tell me what it is about you and Marcus. I mean obviously you're dating him, but I mean-- you trusted him with your past. Like even more than me I guess. It's not that I am mad or jealous, I'm just curious." She asked me.

"Well, I don't know. Of course I trust you like-- more I guess. But he was just there, at the right time and at the right moment. It just felt right and I knew that he wasn't a bad person and he obviously isn't as we can see. And somehow things are starting to get a little more serious, with him everything is just so easy and loving. He's amazing, I don't pretend when I'm with him. Compared to my other few relationships, we're just super close." I told Alisha.

"Wow, that's exactly what I feel like with Josh." She said lost in thoughts. " I'm really happy for you, after everything that you went through."

"Thanks, I am too. And thank you for listening, thanks for just being here for me all the time. Without you I couldn't have gotten over my mom's death, although you didn't even know about it you helped me enjoy my life more. That's the funny thing about us!" I giggled.

"Yeah that's just true. Now go surprise that boyfriend of yours, it'll mean the world to him. And I'm obviously not just saying that to get rid of you and so that I have the apartment to me and my boyfriend ." We laughed a little while longer.

I'm just happy that the truth didn't affect our relationship, nothing could affect us. That's just how it is. Now I'm off to see my boyfriend.
