Amina's POV
"Ami, are you ready yet? Brody and Marcus have literally waited for us for 20 minutes. Now I'm waiting on you too!" Alisha was so right. Poor boys.
"Yeah, I'm comin!!" I screamed and looked one last time into the mirror. I was wearing a casual skinny dress in grey with nice accessories and my hair was in a fishtail. Wow, I totally love my look today. I ran to the door quickly.
"Soo, I'm ready. Let's hit the road!" I smiled. Marcus looked at me smirking speechlessly.
"You look gorgeous, baby." He pecked my lips and I hugged him afterwards.
"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself." I winked at him. "Hey, Brody!" I hugged Alisha's boyfriend quickly. He had blonde hair and brown eyes.
"What's up!" He smiled at me.
"Wellll, let's go or we'll miss our restaurant reservation. We already rescheduled it because of a certain someone." Alisha laughed at me.
"Oh, look who's talking. You weren't ready five minutes ago." I looked at her smirking.
"Okay, let's go already." Marcus already opened the car door for me. What a classy, yet adorable, move.
"Why, thank you." I thanked him. Alisha and Brody were in Brody's car. Brody is chill, he's totally Alisha's type. No wonder they've been dating since high school. They are absolutely perfect. The rest of the car ride went by quickly, as always.
-----------------20 minutes later------------------
"Hey, everyone. My name's Sara and I'm gonna be your waitress for this fine evening. So, what would you like to order ?" The waitress smiled.
"I think I'm gonna get a burger with fries and coke." Marcus grabbed my thigh and smiled at the waitress in a friendly way, I got goosebumps.
"Um-- I'm going for a caesar salad with sprite, please.Thanks!" Alisha ordered.
"Alright, and you, sir?" Sara looked at Brody.
"I would like to get the steak with fries and a water, please" Brody answered. Sara smiled and looked at me.
"And I'd like the steak with the soup, please. And a coke as well. Thank you!" I said resting my hand on Marcus'.
Sara got our menus and left.
"So how long have you been dating?" Brody asked.
"For months." Marcus and I replied in chorus and we all had to laugh.
"Guess that was planned." Alisha smiled. "You make the best team, you know that?"
"Aw, thank you." I chuckled. "You two are real lovebirds though."
"Yeah, I agree with Amina." Marcus said.
"Oh, really? Good thing you do, Amina does argue when it comes to her being right, in case you haven't noticed." Alisha stated smiling.
"Oh, thanks." I looked at her diabolically.
"Well, that is totally true." Marcus said.
"Yeah, sorry Ami. Gotta agree with these two. I know you well enough, to know that." Brody laughed.
"Cool, yeah I know Amina too." I familiar voice said laughing. I saw a girl next to him.
"Broo, what are you doing here? Is this your date?" Marcus asked.
"Oh my gosh, Lucas! What's up?" I was really surprised.
"Hi, I'm Micah. Nice to meet y'all."She greeted us, we all introduced ourselves as well. Micah was quite pretty with her long dark hair and blue eyes and just as nice.
"Come on, sit next to us." Alisha said.
"Yeah, we still got some room." We all scooted over a little bit.
We had the most amazing time, and we even ended up meeting up with my girls later on too. These are all my real friends. All my friends that love me just as much as I love them. And Marcus.
This life. This evening.
This evening, I was surrounded by all my beloved friends. I just realize how lucky I am, despite the things I have been through.
What I was, was hurt. But now I am way stronger than ever. I have an amazing dad and awesome friends by me. I have a roof above my head, and everything I could ever ask for.
At the end of the day what counts is what you can call yourself lucky for and everything that you should appreciate so very much. Way more than you usually do because all you think about I the bad times in your life. Especially if you're going through one.
That is exactly what I've learned.
And all is well, that ends well.
Bad times may come, they always do. But here we are living our lives, healthy and happy. With everything we need and want.
Life is good. Real good.
