Chapter Five

It’s been a few days after that moment with Harry on the field. I’ve been having Louis drop me off at school and then ditching. I don’t know how to react to what Harry said. And I honestly have no idea what to do. I’m up and getting ready for school when I hear Louis knock at my door.

“Come in.”

“Hey Liam. How’s school going?” Louis sings songs while he sits on my bed.

“It’s been going well. Why are you asking?”

“That’s interesting, especially since you haven’t been going in the past three days.” He folds his arms across his chest and I groan.

“How do you know that?”

“Your school called me. Now what the hell is going on Liam?”

“Nothing Louis. Honestly! I just haven’t been feeling like going. That’s all.” I smile and Louis shakes his head.

“Again with the shit lying.” He stands from my bed and walks out my door.

“Louis!” I whine and chase after him.

“I just don’t understand why you’re lying to me. It’s been you and me for over a hundred years and you’ve never lied to me this much Li.”

“I’m sorry Louis I really am. I want to tell you what’s going on, but I don’t even know. When I figure it out I will tell you. I promise.” I give Louis a smile and he nods.

“Okay. Now come on. I have to get you to school and will you please actually go in and attend a class or two? For me?”

“Fine, fine. Let’s go.” I grab my bag and Louis takes me to school.

I actually keep my promise to him and go to a few classes. Just like before in third period Harry doesn’t keep his eyes off of me and I try my best to get out the class first, but my idiot teacher asks me to stay after class.

“Yes?” I ask my teacher agitated and he stares at me with hard eyes.

“You have missed a few assignments Mr. Payne.”

“Well it’s kind of hard to get the assignments when I haven’t been at school the past three days. Sir.” I give him a sarcastic smile and my teacher stands from his seat.

“I will not be spoken to in that tone Mr. Payne!”

“I’m pretty sure you just did. Now instead of making me do these assignments you are going to give me 100’s instead. Isn’t that right?” I stare at my teacher and watch him nod as I compel him.

“I will get right to that.”

“Very good. I will see you bright and early tomorrow sir.” I smile at my teacher and exit the class.  

I’m strolling through the hallway aimlessly. I’m not too interested in my next period. World history has never excited me too much. Especially since I was alive during almost every last event we learn. I keep walking through the hall until I feel a pair of eyes on my back. I turn around and see a very upset Harry. He walks up to me and I scoff at his tough guy impression. When he gets close enough he shoves me and I stumble back slightly.

“What the hell is your problem?” I ask tossing my bag aside and straightening myself up.

“You! You have some nerve Payne.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I fold my arms across my chest and Harry tries to step closer to me but I shove him back.

“You owe me answers.”
