Harry’s POV

I open my eyes to a blinding white light and a lot of beeping noises around me. I clench my eyes shut and open them more slowly letting them get adjusted to the lighting of the room I’m in. When I can finally see, I see that I am in a hospital bed. I don’t remember how I got here. The last thing I remember is the first lap of the race, and then everything goes blank. I sit up in the bed and see the IV sticking in my arm, leading to a bag filled with water. I search for the button to page a nurse and finally find it. She walks in with a smile and a clipboard in hand.

“It’s nice to see you’re awake.”

“Uh, thanks.” I mumble and she walks over to me.

“How are you feeling?”

“Alright, I guess. I don’t really know how I got in here to be honest with you.”

“Well you were running in a race and got extremely dehydrated and passed out. One of your friends rode with you here in the ambulance.” She gives me another smile and I try to think of who she could be talking about, seeing that Zayn wasn’t at the race.

“Could you describe the friend to me. Please?”

“Sure. He had short brown hair, um pretty tall, very handsome, and had eyes that were almost black looking.” I take a quick inhale of breath that ends up stinging my nose due to the cords that are in it.

“Liam...” I whisper and the nurse shrugs.

“I guess that’s him, if he fits my description. He stayed with you for a while and then left after you had a mini episode. I think it scared him.”

“What do you mean by episode?”

“You were having a dream, or at least that’s what the doctor’s and I think, and your heart rate increased drastically which sent your body into a little frenzy. But after being so tired a bad dream can cause a lot of stress that the body is not ready to handle.” She gives me a warm smile and I nod my head trying to think of the dream.

I honestly don’t remember having a bad dream. I don’t remember anything really. But if my dream was that bad then I should remember something from it, but the only thing I got is...

“Liam.” I repeat and the nurse eyes me with oddly.

“Are you sure you are feeling alright?”

“Yeah. Sorry, I’m fine. When will it be alright for me to go home?” I speak fast and sit up a little more in the bed.

“Your mum said you can leave whenever you feel like you are up to it.”

“I’m ready to leave now then.” I give the nurse a smile and she nods, while taking out my IV.

My mum made me miss a few days of school, until she was sure I was completely okay. Of course I told her she was being too over protective but she was hearing none of it and made me stay home. Today is my first day back and I’m a little nervous.

When I walked through the doors I was greeted by classmates with warm smiles and a few pats on my backs. Everyone wishing me well, as if I died or something. I mean my god, I just passed out on the track. It’s not that big of a deal. I make my way through the crowd and find Zayn. He gives me a big smile and runs over to me, wrapping me into a hug.

“It’s good to see you back man!” He yells and I laugh, pulling away from the hug.

“I’ve only been gone for a few days.”

“Exactly and I was stuck here alone for all those days. And next time you wanna pass out, don’t.” Zayn grins and we both laugh.

“I’ll keep that in mind.”
