Chapter 13
Breakfast with the Enemy

Slates POV

What's up with her? She's acting all weird. Is it because of my brother? Airon sat down in front of Destiny and beside me. She stared at him then me and then him and then me, etc. amazed.

"Sooo, your name is Destiny?" He said. "Umm, yes... So what are you doing here?" She asked. At that moment my stomach growled loudly and they both looked at me. "Was that you?" She said giggling. "Ummm...no... It was Airon.... I'm gonna go make something for Airon's stomach be back..." I said.

"What! It wasn't me! What are you talking about! Your such a lier!" He whined I went into the kitchen so I wouldn't hear him complain anymore. I asked one of the chefs to make some pancakes, and he did as told.

Airon's POV

I was still complaining about how Slate made a fool of me, in front of her. I mean I really didn't care but seriously! It's the first time in a couple of years since I've seen a princess, and my brother! Whatever I'll get over it.

"So I hear you are Slates captive... Hmmm." "Is something wrong?" She questioned. "Wow you truly are the element princess aren't you?" I asked ignoring her question and she sighed. "Umm yes why?" She said. "You... You just..." "I understand what you are trying to say." She finished.

"So really, what are you doing here? And how do you know Slate?" She asked. Crap how do I answer this? "I'm here for a special something... And let's just say I know slate from a long time ago..."

Slate's POV

"The food is ready!" I hear from one of the kitchen maids. I walk up to her as she hands me a couple plates of pancakes, a bottle of syrup, and some knifes and forks. "Thanks." I said. "That's what I'm here for." She said back.

I then walked back into the dining room, (with my hands full), and saw the two of them laughing and giggling about who knows what. "What's so funny?" I cut in. "Oh nothing..." She says. "Just small talkin..." Said my brother. I set the food and silverware and syrup on the table.

"It looks delicious, I haven't had pancakes since, well a year or two ago." She said. "How can someone go a year without pancakes!?!" Airon said both questioning and pissy. "I-I don't know! I just haven't had them for a while! Why? Is that a problem to you?" She said prissily. "Nope, no problems here." He said with a pop of the "p".

"I thought so..." She said. Then we all shut up and ate our breakfast. Well except for me, who just stared at Destiny with full attention while she ate and taking small bites every once and a while. "You ok little bro- I mean Slate... You ok slate?" He said trying to cover up his mistake.

I held up a fist at him and kicked him in the shin. "Owww! What the heck?!" He whispered to me. "Be quiet your gonna give away the secret..." I whispered back. Then Destiny's head popped up at the word "secret" and we both stopped and looked at her.

oh crap "I don't even want to know" she said while she rolled her eyes. Few! I thought as I wiped away some sweat that was forming on my forehead. Well, I'd better get going if I want to get everything done before tonight..." Airon said.

"Tonight?" She asked. "Didn't he tell you? It's his birthday!" Airon said excitedly. "And I'm throwing him a big party! With... CAKE!!! I love cake!!!" He said way too over excited. " No he didn't tell me... Slate! How could you?! You should've told me you butt face!" She yelled at me.

"It's not that big of a deal. It just a stupid birthday! Seriously! Ooooo one year older. How exciting" I said sarcastically. F*** you Airon, I wasn't gonna tell her till later... Or not. "Well anyway, see you later." He said and left. "So what are we doing today?" She asked.

"No idea, whatever you want I guess. We do have to go get you a dress for the party though, Airon's orders." ooooo, shopping, yay!... NOT." She said sarcastically. "You don't like shopping? I thought every princess just absolutely LOVES shopping." I said.

"Well maybe you should keep up with your info, cuz it's wrong, very very very very VERY wrong." She corrected me. "Then what do you like to do?" I asked "the opposite of shopping... reading." "Well that's... Interesting... But I like it, it's something different. Just. Like. You." I said smiling.

"But everyone's different you know, just like you and your playful personality." I smiled at her comment and took her hand with mine and practically dragged her down the hallway. "Where are we going?" She said. "It's a surprise... So close your eyes." I demanded "can I trust you?" "I don't know can you?" I said. "Wow stubborn much?" She said "yep". And then we rushed down the hall to the surprise I had in store for her...
