Caged Animals

Last chapter recap...... In Marina's POV

I was sitting in the car watching Thunder take on a bunch of shifters, he was doing all right, hopefully. I watched intensely on his moves and accuracy and strength until I heard the door open and someone grabbing my arm. "Hey! What the heck!?" I said just realizing that it was a shifter. He pulled me out of the car and tried pulling me into his van.

I struggled to get free when i saw thunder getting mauled by a bear. I tried running to him but I was too slow the shifter who was holding on to me put me to sleep and then threw me in the van. I couldn't even tell if thunder was coming after me or not. Then I heard a bang which I figured was the shifter shutting the doors of the van. I then just let myself fade into the dark and fell asleep.

We arrived at there hideout, which Was in the middle of nowhere. They had cages full of people everywhere, but the King and Queen and me where hanging from the ceiling, over a death hole. We fall, we die. "So, are you ready to tell me where the princess is?" The supposed leader of the shifters said.

"She's gone, we haven't seen her for a while." Said the Queen sassily. These shifters must be pretty smart to know to keep us in quartz cages. Because if not, then we would be busted out of here already. Then he lowered her cage a little more toward the hole.

"AHHH!" She screamed. "Don't you dare!" Yelled the King. "Oh! Do you want to go down with her?" Said the shifter. Then he lowered the kings cage to the same height of the queens. "Well if you two won't tell me then I guess I'll have to get my answers somewhere else..." The shifter said.

He turned to me and glared, then he whispered something in his partners ear which don't look good for me. My cage started lowering but not towards the hole, towards the creepy leader.

When the cage landed safely of the ground he unlocked it and grabbed my arm. I struggled to get free but he was just to strong. "The less you struggle the less time this will take." He said. "Don't do this! She is only a child!" Yelled the King. "Who are you calling a child?" I yelled back. "See? She's fine with it." He told the King.

I glared at him rolling my eyes. "Don't tell them anything important sweetie!" The Queen told me. Then I was pulled down the hall. We arrived at a room, he pushed me in and them said, "I'll be back soon, just need to take care of something..." He said creepily.

Then I was left alone the the room. I decided to look around. I saw a chair, a table, some blank pieces of paper, and disgusting cup of coffee. I noticed that there was a window, but it looked really old, broken, and not stable. "I wonder if it will open." I went over to it and tried to pry it open. It started to crack open, but only a little.

Then I remembered that I had no silver on me. I guess those shifters aren't so smart after all. I used my liquid powers and opened the window, since there was water droplets on the outside of it from raining the other night . But it made a big loud windy noise. "What was that?" I heard someone say outside of the door.

Well I guess if this is my chance, then id better take it. I prepared to jump for it, but the the door slammed open and in came a bunch of shifters, including there leader. "Hey what are you doing?!" One Of them yelled. I looked back at the cup of coffee and decided to use it. Ewwww!

I picked it up with my powers and saw someone with there mouth open, yawning. So I through the cup of coffee in his mouth and he fell over puking and gagging. "What the hell!--She's a liquider! --Get her!" They all yelled. "Yes indeed! Tell the King and Queen I'll be back for them. Oh and bye!" I told them.

Then I jumped out the window and landed in a lake. I let the lake water catch me and take me in. I swam to the bottom and then jumped up with the water helping me, I jumped over the wall that surrounded the hideout. Then ran as fast as my legs could run.

I never thought escape could feel so good.
