Calista's POVI haven't heard from Franny the rest of the weekend, but I occasional text Shawn to see how he's doing.
I'm getting ready for school at 6:45 and I put my homework in my backpack. Ashton left early for soccer practice, so I have the house to myself for about half an hour. I grab a book and an apple then plop on the couch. I was in the middle of reading The Fever Code, when I heard the doorbell. I open the door and see Shawn.
"Hey Shawn." I say awkwardly. I didn't expect him to be here.
"Hey, I was going to school, and since you don't have a car I thought I could give you a lift." He offered. Then I remembered he rides a motorcycle. Oh joy.
"Um, sure. Let me go get my things." I thought I would never have o go in a motorcycle again. I thought wrong. I grabbed my book and shoved it in my bag. I slung my bag over my shoulder, then got my sports bag, since I have volleyball practice.

We got to school earlier than I planned, so I had time to organize my stuff for my classes. I spotted Shawn in the hallway and ran up to him. He turned around, and when he saw me he waved. He was talking to two of his friends on the soccer team.
"Hey Calista." When I reached him I gave him a quick hug, even though the last time I saw him was 10 minutes ago. Not to sound creepy or anything, he gives great hugs.
"Aw, wittle Shawnie has a girlfwiend." One of his friends said in a baby voice. His other friends laughed.
"Shut up, Connor, she's just a friend." He chuckled.
"Aw, dude! Why you gotta friend zone the poor girl!" His other friend said. I think his name was Brandon. I just blushed and looked down. Thankfully it was only light, and no one seemed to notice.
"We'll see you, Shawn, and Shawn's friend." They said, then walked away. Shaun's friend?! Shawn literally said my name 2 minutes ago! Doofus.
"So Shawn," I turned to him. "The guys have band practice after school, so you wanna hangout?" I asked. I asked because i know he's been trying to get his mind off his mom. Thankful she's still alive, but she's had multiple surgeries.
"Yeah sure. But maybe an hour after school? I promised my friend Samantha I'd help her unpack. She just moved." He explained.
"Wait. Are you talking about the Samantha at the hospital?" I remember the girl at the front desk had a name tag that said Samantha.
"Yeah, we've been friends for about 2 years." He said. I nodded. "Hey! I don't think she'd mind if you came too." He added.
"Sure! I'd love to." Then right on cue, the bell rings. I didn't know we'd been talking for that long.

"This is the place?" I ask in awe. Samantha's hours was beautiful. I looked by the window and saw a small topiary of a penguin. It was adorable.
"Yep! Her dad is one of the best doctors in America, and her mom is a lawyer." Shawn stared. I was still admiring the house. We walked up to the door and Shawn rang the doorbell. The door bell sounded really cool, like: ding dong ding dong. Maybe I'm over exaggerating.
Samantha opened the door, and when she saw Shawn, her face lit up, and she tackled him into a hug. I just stood there awkwardly. She let go, and looked at me.
She smiled." Hi! I'm Samantha, but you can call me Sam. Wait- OMG, are you Calista?" I looked at Shawn, only to see him blushing and looking down.
"Um, yeah. How'd you know?" I chuckle. She turned and pointed at Shawn.
"Shawn wouldn't shut up about you." She laughed. I just blushed.
"Anyway," Shawn interrupted, dragging out the word. "I hope it's okay, if I brought Calista to help you unpack."

1 million years later (spongebob narrator voice)
"Done!"Shawn yells from downstairs, as he unloads and unpacks the last box. That took about 2 hours, but I was fine with that. Sam and I ran downstairs.
"Hey, Shawn?" Sam asked as we were leaving.
"Yeah?" Shawn turned around and so did I. Even though she called Shawn.
"Do you wanna hang out? Like, now?" She asked sheepishly. I looked at Shawn to see what he'd say.
"Oh, sorry. I promise Cali I'd hangout after we helped you pack. But we could do it tomorrow." He offered. It was nice of him to remember that we were going to hang out today.
"Ok, I guess." Her mood changed a little. She seemed a little annoyed and- jealous?
"See you!" Shawn bid, before we left.
Another motorcycle was just what I needed. Note the sarcasm.
When we got home, we ended up watching a Harry Potter marathon. We were in the middle of watching The Order of the Phoenix, when Kron4 news interrupted.
Breaking news tonight: Police have the right to believe this man, Marcos Hernandez, was charged for attempted murder of Karen Mendes. He is currently in court, but there is no further evidence to support this claim. Here is the picture of the man being accused.
I couldn't believe it. The picture was of Marcos. Like, Marcos Marcos. Like, my assistant volleyball coach. No. He wouldn't.
"He wouldn't." I muttered. Shawn turned to me.
"You know him?" He asked. I just nodded.
"How do you know he wouldn't do it?" He was shocked.
"I just know."
