Lucius stared at me in confusion. Pushing me away slightly. He leaned his head towards the ceiling, counting to ten, before sighing and focusing on me again.
"Lu-" but he cut me off.
"Fine," he voiced, "I'll get tested."
I smiled as I walked over to him to hug his body, but it was a limp hug, with no emotion behind it. He was being ridiculous, I had good reason to stall, I wanted to see why we were together. He clearly wanted sex, but how long would he wait for it. He seemed to sense my pondering because he crossed his arms and focused on me intently. I threw my hands up in the air.
"I can't trust anybody anymore! I keep going back and fucking forth, trying to see which time I'll be comfortable with the guy, but its always pressure and fucking sadness." I grabbed my keys turning to put back on my coat, but Lucius stopped me. "Lucius, I really want to." I whispered as he held me close, he closed his eyes and he exhaled, "but I have my reasons."

Lucius and I headed down to the clinic, he seemed nervous but tried to not show it. We made out last night, trying to not get into it much. I fell silent when the nurse called his last name. He stood, frowning back at me before disappearing around the corner that I had days ago. He returned fifteen minutes later, causing me to stand and walk to him.
"How was it?" I tried easing his tension.
"Fine," he paused looking around him, "let's go."
We walked to the car, he got into the driver's seat before cranking the engine. I sat in silence, wondering why he was so quiet. He didn't get the results back, and wouldn't for a week so it wasn't that. I flinched when he hit the steering wheel.
"Katie, I'm not pressuring you. But what will these results do for us?" He argued, hitting the seat with a thud. I looked at him wildly, his outburst was childish, I did this for us.
"I had an STD from my last partner. This is supposed to make me secure that I won't get another one!" I yelled back, turning to him in my seat, "If this relationship is only about sex, then we're finished. We've been strong for the last three years, if your little slip-up changes our opinion on each other, then we should see other people." I blurted, crossing my arms.
"I think you're right." He said, driving home. He dropped me at my house, the ride was silent, not a peep until we pulled into the lot. I looked at him as I got out of his car.
"So this is it?" I said looking through the window at him.
"Yeah" he stared ahead blankly, thankfully avoiding my dumb tears spill over my eyes. I gritted my teeth, hitting the car door with my hand. He shook his head, speeding off.

I flinched as the sound of the books crashed into the last box. I folded the flaps of the cardboard cube and grabbed the masking tape. Hearing the stretch of the material, I lined the edges to secure it.
"All those recipe books, you can't cook." Katie exclaimed, crossing her arms tauntingly. A small smile formed on my lips, looking down at my fingers that laid gently on the box.
"A little something to remember you by." I said sadly, my face scrunching up with sadness.
"Gosh Naomi! You're moving a couple hours away, not dying, suck it up." she pressed, her own voice cracking, "the truck will be here in a couple of hours, make sure have everything." she stood from her stool, looking around the living and up the steps. "This place looks really empty." she sighed, letting her arms down by her side.
