I woke up, Heath had traded the bed for the couch for me. The alarm was going to sound in twenty minutes, so I woke up early anyways. Showering slowly, I watched the soapy water run over my mint green toes. I jumped when Heath pulled back the shower curtain. I quickly covered my body with my hands.
"Why are you trying to hide? It's not like I haven't seen it before." he said, a develish grin played on his lips. This was the Heath I knew, the one who made me turn a crimson red.
"So...I need to ready for work." I giggled, swatting away his hand. He lifted an eyebrow.
"feisty, very feisty." he teased pulling his shirt over his head.
No.
I quickly shut off the water, and leaped out of the shower, sprinting past him to grab my towel.
"Thought we could get a little wet together." he grinned, winking at me. My eyes widened and I ran out of the bathroom to put on my clothes. He followed me out by the time I got on my bra. I pulled my black t-shirt and khaki colored jeans. I put on my Panera hat and walked downstairs for breakfast. There was an egg and bacon omelet sitting on a plate. I sat, chowing down on the crispy tortilla that filled my mouth with cheese.
"You don't have to be so nice to me." I said with my mouth full. He smiled and walked over to me, breaking off a piece of the omelet while holding eye contact. I looked down to my phone to check the time.
6:45am
Wow, I have thirty minutes!
I looked back up, he was studying me carefully as he chewed the omelet he had took from me. I finished quickly and stood, he stood too.
"Can I help you?" I asked annoyed.
He smiled and shook his head, still follow me up the steps to the bathroom. I began brushing my teeth as he stood in the door frame. I saw him look at me through the mirror, I turned.
"You're not supposed to look at me like that! I'm not your girlfriend anymore, remember? " I gurgled, he met my eyes in the mirror.
"That was a mistake. " he said quickly, walking to push his hands around my waist. I spat and rinsed my mouth, gurgling with the mint mouthwash. He kissed my neck, "a huge mistake" he murmured into my neck.
"I have to go." I said pushing him off. He staggered back and watched me walk around him and out of the bathroom, I grabbed my keys and began to walk downstairs to get my shoes on.
6:57am
"I still have time" I whispered to myself. Heath was at the top of the steps looking down at me, he watched me tangle up my laces and stand to leave.
"I added a pair of keys to your keychain." he noted, walking back into the room and shutting the door. I looked down at the chain, shifting the house keys and car keys aside to a small but firm, light pink key.
What is this for?
Walking outside I hopped into my car abd drove to Panera, reaching there just in time to start my shift. Slipping the green apron over my head I began to get to work. I heard the door open behind me as I wiped down one of the tables.
"Welcome, what can I get you?" Dave greeted the person.
A familiar voice responded. Lucius.
"An application would be great." he said, I turned to look at him just as he looked at me. "Hey Naomi, knew you'd be here. Can you help a guy out?" I looked past him and at Dave who nodded his head.
"You can start by filling out this application and we can get you working within two days." Dave informed him, pulling out a paper and pen. Lucius took the paper and sat at one of the tables, filling out the application. I grabbed the bucket of soapy water, hauling it back to the storage closet. I grabbed the mop bucket and began wiping down the bathroom floors. My phone vibrated in my pocket.
