I. LOVED. THIS. DRAMA.
And yeah, I highly recommend it!

I'll start this review by the reason why I watched itㅡit was actually because of the role Yook Sungjae was supposed to play (Kim Yoon Sung), second male lead! I was curious why they declined on this project since the drama got so popular. And another thing, of course, is Bogum's one of my favourite actors along with Kwak Dongyeon (whom I loved back to Modern Farmer ♡) and I wanted to see Jinyoung's acting after I watched him from Bomi's webdrama.

Soooo, I really loved this drama (obviously). I really don't know how to start reviewing it well.

But it was already so f-ed up from the beginning! Because of Ra On pretending to be a boy and all that.

I guess what I loved the most about this drama is the Crown Prince's personality! He's really sooo smart and kind-hearted despite his smug and cold personality in the beginning. He just slays everytime and I loved it XD

Another thing I loved the most is his love for Raon and her love for him! Like, dude, they're so sweet I always cri

Even during those really difficult times! You can see the LOOOOVVVEEEEE in their eyes and the way they spoke to each otherㅡugh the feels. You get me, right? Like, it's not like the other K-dramas I watched where one of them plays dumb and decides to act like the girl/boy means nothing etc.

In this drama, even though they were separated from each other for a while, you can still feel their loveㅡlike dude, it's that strong ㅠ.ㅠ

My heart hurt for them </3I was hopeless

My heart hurt for them </3
I was hopeless. It was hopeless. She's the daughter of the rebelㅡbut apparently, PD-nim and writer-nim were a genius so we got a happy ending! Yay!

→ Going back to the time Ra On  met Yoonsung!! (I SWEAR ASDFGHJKL I COULD IMAGINE SUNGJAE IN THAT ROLE! HE WOULD HAVE DONE SO WELL BCS HE'S THE MASTER OF UNREQUITED LOVE LOL)

But Jinyoung is amazing too, of course! His first appearance went damn straight to my soul. Lol.
I thought I was going to have severe second lead syndrome, thankfullyㅡit was mild. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I loved Yoonsung! He did everything he could to protect Raon ㅠㅠ
My heart hurts for him *cries hysterically*

The ending though...

...

Why did nobody warn me? </3

I literally asked my sister, WHY THE HECK DIDNT YOU WARN ME!! LOL

My heart was so broken. Yoonsung deserved better than that, pd-nim! ㅠㅠ

When Raon said, "You have always made me laugh. I am heartbroken that I always hurt you."

ㅜ.ㅜ (thinking about it makes me cry)

Second male lead(s) deserve better!!!

Wow.

I knew Dong Yeon before! But when I saw him in this drama I was blown away! He's amazing. His visual and his acting ugh ㅠㅠ

I've watched him in Modern Farmer before and he was my favorite character thereㅡbut that was a really cute role! Nothing like Byung Yun, so I was really amazed when I watched him in this drama. I'm so proud of him for getting this role ♡ He deserves it ㅜ.ㅜ (applause)

Obviously, Byung Yun is one of my favorite characters in this drama. He's so loyal to the people he treasures (like the Crown Prince & Ra On).

That scene where he had to aim the sword to the Crown Prince was so heartbreaking ㅜ.ㅜ (just looking at his facial expression made me sad)
I legit thought he was gonna die! I thought he's gonna die and not Yoon Sung when my sister told me one of them is gonna die... damn.
(mentioned "gonna die" 3x lol)

I was SO freaking relieved when I saw his finger moved ㅜ.ㅜ

But I was also so sad for Yoon Sung during the time he thought Byung Yun was dying. I think he had a deeper bond with Byung Yun than with the Crown Prince. And he couldn't even approach at that moment :(

Basically, Yoon Sung was underrated by everyone in the drama. lol

~~

My favourite line from the drama is:

"Whether you see it from the palace or from a farm, the moon is simply the moon. I may be the Crown Prince, but it does not matter whoever you are. Whenever it is and wherever we are, it's fine as long as our hearts are the same."

UGH LEE YOUNG ㅜ.ㅜ

Overall review:

Seriously, guys, I highly recommend this to everyone. I know I spoiled everything in this review, but even so, you have to watch it (if you haven't).

I'm not usually into historical/traditional dramas. I just tried this out because of the actors starring in it! And it is beautiful! ♡

The rollercoaster of emotions a viewer could feel are all in this dramaㅡthe fun, the suspense, the heartbreak, the sadness, the butterflies, etc.

It's (for me) one of the best I've ever watched!
