After the situation with Grayson, I decided to leave the bar. There was no way I could stay and try to comprehend what happened. I decided to walk home being that it's only a few blocks away. Janie offered to come with me, but I declined, so she called a cab to come get her.

I've always wanted Grayson to kiss me but I wanted to be able to enjoy it. Not that I didn't. It's just I didn't know what he was doing until it was too late.

"Lacey!"

Speak of the devil. Grayson just pulled up beside me.

"Go away. I'm not in the mood."

"No. I need to talk to you."

"Why?"

By now, I've completely stopped walking.

"It's about tomorrow."

So he kisses me, and then wants to talk about getting rid of me. That's fantastic. Note my major sarcasm.

"There's nothing to talk about."

I take off walking again.

"Yes there is."

He grabs my arm. I didn't even know he got out of his car.

"Let me go. I'm not in the mood right now."

"At least let me take you home."

"I'm not going home."

"Fine. Let me take you somewhere."

"Where?"

"It's a surprise. It's special."

"Fine. Whatever."

We walk to his car and he opens the door for me. We start driving to the other side of town.

After about thirty minutes, I start getting antsy. Where are we going?

"Where the hell are you taking me? You gonna murder me in the woods?"

"I told it was a surprise, and I would never murder you. I'd miss you too much."

I mumble a response. "Sure you would."

"What was that?"

"Oh. Nothing."

"Okay."

We continue to drive for about another ten minutes. The car finally comes to a stop. Looking out the window, I see a river, tulips, and daffodils. It's so pretty.

"Come on. Let's go sit by the river."

I hadn't even realized that Grayson had gotten out of the car or opened my door. He sticks his hand out for me to take and I comply.

Getting closer to the river, this spot looks familiar. Then it clicks.

"Is this-"

"The spot where we first met? Yeah."

"It's just as beautiful as I remember."

"Yeah, it is."

We sit in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. Then I start wondering why he brought me here.

"Grayson, why did you bring me here? It's sweet and all, but there has to be a reason."

He takes a deep breath. "I brought you here, because I thought you would consider what I'm going to say next if I did."

"Which is?"

"You can't leave. You have to stay."

"Grayson-"
