Lacey's P.O.V.
I'm so excited. I get to move in with Grayson. He's the love of my life. He's my everything. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. He's been my rock for almost seven years. Life wouldn't be the same without him.
"Sweet pea, ready to take Kaylie to the park?"
"Yeah."
We make our way out to his car. He opens the door and I climb in. Soon after, we're headed to pick up Kaylie.
"We can start moving the rest of your things in later today or tomorrow. Whenever you're ready."
"Okay."
He takes my hand in his. He begins to rub circles on the back of my hand with the pad of his thumb. I love him so much.
We pull in the drive at Cynthia's house.
"Want me to go with you?"
"No, I got this."
I give him a quick kiss before getting out of the car. I head up to the door. Again, before I can ring the doorbell, the door swings open. Kaylie is standing there with a smile on her face.
"Lacey! What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if a certain little girl wanted to go to the park."
"Yes! I wanna go!"
"Kaylie, what are you yelling about?" I hadn't even noticed that Cynthia had walked into he room.
"Lacey's gonna take me to the park."
I turn to Cynthia. "If that's okay with you. I don't want to ruin anything you had planned."
"It's fine, dear. Go ahead." She turns to Kaylie. "Kaylie, you better listen to Lacey. If she tells me you didn't, you'll be in big trouble. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Grandma." She turns back to me. "I have to grab my shoes first."
"Okay."
Not even a minute later Kaylie is back by the front door. She gives Cynthia a hug. "Bye, Grandma."
"Bye, doll. Have fun."
"I will."
I turn to Cynthia. "I'll have her back some time after lunch."
"No rush dear."
"Bye."
"Bye."
We head back to Grayson's car. I open the door so she climb in. I wait until she's buckled the seat belt before I climb in the front.
"Ready to go?"
"Yep. We're all set." He starts pulling out of the drive.
I shoot Janie a text, telling her to meet us at the park. She quickly replies with 'okay.'
A few minutes later, we're at the park. Grayson gets out to open the door for Kaylie and then me. He reaches out to take my hand.
We make our way towards the play area. Kaylie immediately heads to the big spiral slide.
"Be careful!"
"I will!"
I walk over to the swings and sit down. Grayson stands behind me and starts to push the swing.
Another few minutes and Kaylie comes running over to us. "I wanna swing."
"Then swing."
She sits on the swing next to me. She begins to pump her legs back and forth. Before I know it, she's going way too high for my liking.
"Kaylie, not so high."
"Okay."
She stops pumping her legs and the swing stops going as high.
"Better?"
"Much."
Just then, Janie and Daniel walk up.
"Hey guys."
"Hey, Janie. Daniel."
"Hi."
"Lacey, will you go on the seesaw with me?"
"Sure."
We get off the swings and walk to the seesaw. I help her on and then go to the other end. We spend the next few minutes playing on the seesaw. Then it starts to rain. I guess I should have looked at the forecast. Oh well. What's done is done.
We all start running towards the cars. We get in to keep from getting completely soaked.
"Kaylie, where do you wanna go for lunch?"
"How about Arby's?"
"Works for me. Sweet pea?"
"Sounds good."
"Alrighty then. Let's go."
We leave the park and start driving towards Arby's. Janie and Daniel are following behind us. Once we reach our destination, we get out of our cars and hurriedly enter the restaurant.
We walked to the counter and order our food. We get our drinks and sit down. After a few minutes, our food is ready.
Once we're done eating, we head back to the cars. At least the rain has stopped for now.
"We're gonna take Kaylie back to Cynthia. If we don't see you guys later, we'll definitely see you tomorrow. We'll need y'all to help move the rest of Lacey's things to my house."
"We'd be happy to help." We say our goodbyes and climb in our cars. We pull out of the parking lot and start the drive towards Cynthia's.
When we get there, I help Kaylie out of the car. She gives me a big hug.
"Thanks for taking me to the park."
"You're welcome, sweetie. We'll have to do it again when it doesn't decide to rain on us."
"Okay. Bye, Lacey."
"Bye, Kaylie."
She takes off towards the house. The door opens and out comes Cynthia. She waves and I wave back. I climb in the car as Kaylie makes her way up the few steps. We pull out of the drive and make our way home. Home. I like the sound of that.
"Penney for your thoughts?"
"I was just thinking how good it feels to call your house home."
"I like the sound of that."
"Me too."
When we get back to the house, Grayson turns to me. "Sweet pea, I'm all for you moving in. But if you feel like things are moving too fast, tell me. I don't want to pressure you into something you don't want to do."
"I would have said no if I didn't want to move in. Now wouldn't I?"
"Yeah. I guess you would."
We get out of his car and make our way inside. I turn around to say something when all thoughts flee my mind. Grayson's lips land on mine almost instantly. I wrap my arms around his neck.
"I've been waiting all day to do that."
"So why haven't you?"
"There was people around. Plus, here we don't have to worry about nobody wanting to see us kiss. This is our place. We can do whatever the hell we want."
"I like the way you think." I give him another kiss.
"Good."
Next thing I know I'm being carried towards the bedroom. Life with Grayson is going to be so much fun. I can't wait.
