Shizuo walked into his apartment, exhausted. After a long day of work and Tom's constant nagging about how 'important' love is, all Shizuo wanted to do was sleep. His apartment hasn't been cleaned since his fight with Izaya, leaving it completely ruined and unable to live in. The bartender adapted, creating a makeshift bed and kitchen; he used the old lady's bathroom next door, which she kindly offered with a knowing look.

The bartender could live anywhere as long as there was food, water, and shelter. Shizuo had also been like this, and he never had any possessions that held much meaning to him. So when he destroyed his apartment it didn't affect him but he was still pissed because it was Izaya that caused him to do this.

Speaking of Izaya, the flea bastard was in his apartment, waiting on the makeshift bed Shizuo threw together. This was the second time he had been inside his apartment, and this time Shizuo wasn't letting him leave alive.

"Your dead, flea!" Shizuo said, growling and stomping over towards Izaya.

The informant held his hands up in surrender, slowly standing up."Now now, I mean no harm. I'm just here for a friendly chat," he said with a small smirk.

"I'll kill you."

Izaya let out a short laugh, quickly regaining his posture."As much as I would absolutely love to do exactly that (kill you) I cant just yet. There are a few things I must tell you that will probably change your mind."

The informant gave Shizuo a questioning look, wondering if he could continue. Since the bartender made no move to stop him, Izaya continued his explanation."You see, Shizu-chan, since our souls are switched that means we cant kill each other. Even a protozoan like you should understand that. And since I have no desire to die and leave all the lovely humans to fend for themselves, I would like to request that you don't do anything that will put either of us in danger."

Shizuo didn't even flinch, giving Izaya a look of indifference as he crossed his arms over his chest."Don't even think about committing suicide either. It is a stupid cowardly act that only weak pathetic protozoans do. Honestly, there is no reason for anyone to commit suicide when I'm around to love them. But since your a monster, Shizu-chan, you can commit suicide when I'm not tied to you anymore."

The bartender finally opened his mouth, finally deciding what to say."You love me, don't you?"

Izaya raised an eyebrow in question, shocked by the sudden change in topic."Why would you think that?"

"Well you said so yourself, the day you killed-" Shizuo looked down in pain quickly vanishing whatever images that were crawling into his mind."Anyways, tell me!"

Izaya started chuckling, slowly breaking into a full mocking laugh. He poured his heart into it, making sure Shizuo knew he was amused by his question."I love humans Shizu-chan, there is no possible way I could love a monster like you!"

"Well then why did you say you loved me!"

"Why? Does it really matter! Its not like you love me!"

"How would you know!"

"Because monsters cant love, Shizu-chan!"

They both stopped, trying to catch their breath. Izaya sat back down on Shizuo's makeshift bed, putting his head in his hands. Small, chocked, sounds were heard and Shizuo looked over towards Izaya in shock.

"Flea, are you crying?" he asked, still in shock at the sounds he was hearing from the other man.

Izaya looked up, eyes looking depraved of something unknown. There were no tears, but the informant wasn't smirking, just giving Shizuo a dead look."Im not crying," he said with malice,"You know just as well as I do that people like us don't have the right to cry, not anymore. People who cry over something like love are just pathetic disgusting creatures; painful looks, looks of anger and despair and beautiful tears are not. They are ugly and disgusting, a god like me doesn't need such things."

"Thats true." Shizuo said back, relaxing slightly.

Both of the men paused before they both started laughing, filling the room with an odd warmth."I cant believe Shizu-chan just agreed with me, the world must be ending," Izaya said, letting out an airy chuckle.

Shizuo hummed in agreement, letting himself relax a little more. He still kept his guard up, but he felt like Izaya had changed somewhat."So, is that all you came here for?"

The informant gave him a sly smile, getting up up off the bed."I was planning on telling you something else, but I guess I'll wait until later. Things are becoming far to interesting to tell you now."

The bartender gave him a questioning look, but let it slide for today as Izaya left his apartment through the window. Shizuo would never know how much misfortune that meeting would cause him.
