Church was supposed to be a peaceful place, but there was a war roaring in Lauren's head.
The quiet murmers of "Amen" and the pope speaking admiringly about God did not add up to Lauren's mood this morning.
The bright morning sun shone through the glass in steel windows and lit up the entire church, annoying her even further.
She glanced towards the other row of church benches. Up in the front was Ally, now silently listening to her father. Smiling the entire damn time.
Even Ally's never ending joyful mood annoyed her now.
Why was everyone smiling? Why did every damn soul in this house of God seem content, even happy? And why wasn't she?
Four rows behind Ally sat a boy. Or was he a man now? Seen what he demanded from her and how clever he had been at his approach. And how focussed he was on getting what he wanted. A hateful man then.
Lauren was clenching and unclenching her fists. She was mad. No, she was fuming.
If God was real. Why would he treat her like this?
The man made her angry. However, the girl sitting just behind him somehow managed to fuel her fire even more.
She hadn't done anything wrong, not really. There was no particular reason for her anger. Yet she was.
She didn't even understand why she was angry herself. Why would Camila's hand rubbing Chub's leg make her so mad? Or was his name Chuck? She decided she didn't remember nor really cared.
All she cared for was getting out of this stupid church before she would actually stand up and slap Camila's hand away herself.
Camila's simple smile and the fact that she kept glancing at Lauren didn't help.
She just wanted to go somewhere. Any place but home, take Camila with her and relax for once.
But she couldn't. Not now. Not ever.
She was trapped. Trapped in her selfmade hellhole on God's holy earth. Burning in her own anger for that damned happy world of Him.

CAMILA POVCamila sat on the wooden church bench. Her eyes were fixed on the pope even though she didn't really hear what he was saying. But she was there. Next to her boyfriend, as she should.
So why was that green eyed girl's pull still so strong she had to keep looking in her direction?
She knew Lauren was angry. She could see it in the way she was clenching her fists, and the way her jaw was set. Her beautiful face was turned into a frown that could barely be seen but Camila did.
Lauren was trying to glamour her anger, as she did with every other feeling she had. But Camila knew how to read her.
She could be angry, but so was Camila. She wasn't the one that started pulling boys out of sight just after the night they had. She also didn't keep secrets from Lauren like that.
Yes, she did have a boyfriend but atleast she didn't go around picking new victims every damn day. Making them feel special, then shutting them out again.
Did her words mean nothing then?
Chuck seemed happy Camila was back to being her old self. She felt sorry for him, sorry for how she acted. Yet she knew she wasn't back to his old Mila. She wasn't sure if she'd ever be. Not after her.
