"How could you say that?" I cried, pushing the covers off of me as I sat up.

"I didn't mean it like that," he told me, immediately following me off of the bed and into the living room.

"I'm leaving." I stated and slipped on my white converse.

"You can't leave," he begged and grabbed my arm gently.

I looked back at the smooth haired boy for a moment. His eyes had seen so much pain. All because of me. I realize he was hurting, but how could he say what he said?

"I need you, like the sky needs the stars." He sobbed, tears beginning to spill out of his perfect brown eyes.

I looked away from him, focusing my eyes on the burgendy colored carpet. He was all I wanted for so long, how could it all boil down to this? Was this all just some kind of lie?

"Go to hell," I said emptyly, turning towards to bedroom door and putting my now shaking hand onto the brass handle.
He sighed and grabbed my shoulder, turning me to face him angerly, " I know this is hard for you Kate, but we need to work together on this."

I shook my head, "I don't want to see you anymore Dan, why can't you get that?"

I pushed him away from me and bolted out of the door as a worried Dan followed me.
I stopped suddenly and turned to him, "what?" I demanded an answer.

"I can't live without you, much like the earth can't live without the moon." He gasped, trying to catch his breath as our eyes connected

"Too late," I snapped and headed on my empty, lonely, way.
