"I'm going on a date tonight with Lance!"
"Oh, congrats."
"Don't you like anyone, Daniel?"
"Just some girl,"
"You should tell her,"
"No, it's too late,"
It was nice being back at Dan's place. Though it was such a struggle trying to steam the blood stains out of the carpet.
I felt terrible, apologizing to Dan constantly. Which just caused a little smile to spread across his face.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that things would end up this way," I frowned and sat down next to Dan on the bed.
He smiled at me and placed his warm hand over mine, he exhaled some air from his nose and shook his head. But that soon passed after I got used to staying home with Dan.
Life was still hard for us, especially after going through something as traumatic as being stabbed. But as Dan slowly healed, I slowly lost that feeling of panic that filled my body every time there was a knock at the door.
"Want to watch the stars with me?" He cooed, his words soft and delicate against the midnight air.
I shook my head. For the first time turning down the only seven words that calmed every anxiety in my body. Because for the first time everything that I had wished upon the stars for, was right in front of me.
He looked taken aback by my answer. His eyebrows raised and his mouth gaped slightly.
I looked up at him with a smile, "I don't need them anymore, I have you."
He smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me down onto the bed. He hummed into my ear and pressed a soft kiss against my temple.
"Okay beautiful," he mumbled softly. "Are you hungry?"
I nodded.
"Why don't you go watch television while I make us some food," he suggested with a smile.
I sighed and pulled myself up, sliding down the bed until my feet hit the cold floor.
Dan propped himself up on his elbows and watched as I began to walk away.
"I love you," he spoke up, causing my to turn to face him.
I giggled as butterflies formed in my stomach. I wasn't used to his soft voice telling me he loved me; everything felt so surreal.
I covered my smile with my hand as I stared back at him. He looked so kissable with his curly hair and chocolate eyes.
I never wanted to be without him ever again. Even if it was just while he made dinner.
"I love you too," I smiled sheepishly.
He smiled widely, allowing the dimples in his cheeks a chance to make me swoon.
"Go watch tv," he joked as he sat up fully, covering his face with his sweater sleeve.
"Okay, Howell," I said playfully before turning away and walking to the living room.
I crawled onto the couch immediately grabbing a blanket that had been left out from the previous night. I pulled my legs up to my chest and wrapped the fuzzy blanket around myself as I grabbed the remote.
Dan slid into the living room shortly after I turned the TV on, grabbing the back of the couch to stable himself.
"What do you want to eat?" He asked and ruffled my hair.
I pretended to think hard about it even though I knew exactly what I wanted to eat, just to mess with him.
I hummed as I held a finger to my lips, "What about pizza?"
"Pizza is always an option," he chuckled.
"Yay!" I cheered as Dan left to start on some frozen pizza.
I turned the TV on and began flipping through the channels. I hadn't really watched tv when I lived with Lance. The only time I really watched it was to distract him when he got home, and when I was here.
There were so many options. So many different channels and subjects that I could choose from. Dan usually picked what we watched, probably for the best.
Eventually I just gave up and let whatever was on play. I didn't pay much attention to the tv to care what was playing anyways.
I sighed as the signal buffered. It must have been the weather or something. I decided to lean my head against the arm of the couch and wait for Dan to return.
I wondered what we were going to do tomorrow. But I didn't care as long as it was with him. My eyes fluttered shut as smells of pizza began to fill our apartment. A nap would be great right about now, especially since I hadn't been sleeping well lately.
It felt nice to sleep, knowing that I was safe. I must have slept for about a half hour before sounds of a very sensual man woke me from my slumber. I furrowed my eyebrows as my mind tried to register what exactly was happening.
"Ohh yeah. I'm gonna fuck you hard," the man on the tv moaned.
Fuck. I must have put on the wrong channel by mistake before I fell asleep. I cursed to myself as I desperately looked for the remote.
Dan entered the room, a plate of food in each hand. He looked around the room in confusion before looking back at me.
"So this is what you had planned for the afternoon, huh?" He snickered as his cheeks turned a cherry red.
"Dan! Shut up and help me find the remote!" I shushed him and plopped myself down in frustration.
He put our plates down on the dining table as he helped me look for the remote. It took a few awkward minutes but we finally managaed to find the remote and change the channel.
Dan turned to me, a big dorky smile on his face. I covered my face in embarrassment. I can't believe he left me with the tv once and I managed to accidently turn on porn. Figures.
Dan threw his head back with laughter, "I can't believe I came back to gay porn."
"Would you shut up! It was an accident," I whined as he wheezed.
"I know. I just didn't expect it," he said as he took a deep breath. "I love you."
I rolled my eyes as a small giggle escaped my lips. I really turned on porn while he was in the other room, and he thought nothing of it.
"I love you too Daniel," I smiled brightly before pulling him into a kiss.
