dan sat in the uncomfortable chair of the emergency room. half awake from staying up all night. no one had come to visite phil, not even phil's dad. he had called all phil's family, but he got nothing back. standing up dan kissed phil's forhead and walked to the bathroom up the hall. looking in the mirror, he was a mess. dark circles, red eyes, and tear stained cheeks. dan washed his face and started to walk back to phil's room. "dan howell?" a doctor asked as he sat down in the same chair as earlier. "yes?" dan ask in a tired voice. "i dont think hes going to make it, dan" he said quietly as he put a hand on dan's shoulder. dan just looked up at him and said. "okay"

(flash back)
dan was heading to phil's house to surprise him with a few movies for them to watch. dan, being close with phil just walked in and went to phils room. "phil!" dan said as he realized phil wasn't in there. "phil? are you in there?" dan asked as he knocked on the door to the bathroom. nothing. the door was locked.
dan could feel the panic rise in him, he shouldn't have left yesterday. "phil!! are you there!!" dan yelled as he felt tears prick his eyes. dan started slamming his shoulder into the door, trying to get it open.
finally, dan broke down the door, and what he saw wasn't good. dan saw phil on the ground with slit wrists and a bottle of pills on the ground. "PHIL" dan screamed as he shook him to wake him up. calling 911 dan started sobbing, dan was losing his best friend.
(flash back over)
dan sat on his bed, crying for the millionth time, when his phone started to ring. "hello?" dan said as he sat up from the position he was in. "hi, this is phil lester's doctor. dan we have some bad new. phil passed last night. i'm sorry for your loss" the doctor said through the phone. dan didn't know what to say. his best friend, was dead.
