"Marie wake up." Kol called to me.
"Ugh what time is it?" I whined.
"It's 6 am." Kol said as if it was nothing.
"6 am? Go back to bed Kol." I whined rolling over.
"Marie get up now." He demanded.
Stupid fake compulsion. I rolled out of bed and fell on the floor.
"Morning is not your part of the day, is it love."
"No Klaus I hate mornings especially the early ones." I stated.
"Here." Kol said handing me a mug.
"What is this?" I said giving him a raised eyebrow.
"Relax it's just coffee." He stated.
Thank God for caffeine. I chugged it and was still exhausted.
"You really aren't a morning person love."
I gave him a look that said what do you think.
"Here have some eggs." Klaus said setting a plate of scrambled eggs on the kitchen island.
"Since when did you cook?" I asked.
"Don't be so quick to judge love, I've lived on the earth for a thousand years. I picked up a couple things."
"Thanks." I say.
I'm not one to say thanks, but the foster home taught me my manners.
After breakfast I was dragged upstairs by Kol to start unloading the boxes.
"Kol will you go get the dresses please?" I asked.
"I guess." He said leaving and returning in a second.
Even though I have been a slayer for a while, I'm still not used to their super speed.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
With Kol's help we got done in a little over an hour. Then Kol and I had to pack but Klaus insisted that we spend the whole day together so we had to help each other pack.
"Why do you need so many clothes?" He asked.
"Because humans unlike vampires do get sick and cold. I need layers plus outfit choices."
"I thought you didn't care what you were."
" I care that I'm wearing what I am in the mood for and what is comfortable."
"Ah... So you two can go with out driving each other crazy?" Klaus said walking in.
"I mean I guess, it's very boring."
"I agree mate."
"Okay something is wrong when we are agreeing."
"Well I guess this road trip might not be too terrible." Klaus stated walking away.
"Is this it?" Kol asked.
I nodes grabbed the suitcase and threw it over the balcony. It didn't have anything breakable in it. It was just a bunch of clothes, but it did make quite a loud noise.
"Was that really necessary?" Kol asked.
"Well I wasn't about to carry that down the stairs." I stated. "Let's go get your stuff packed, where's your room?"
"Right here." He said opening the third door on the right.
His room didn't have any furniture besides the dresser so it was pretty empty. It had a couple of books sitting on top of the dresser but that's it.
"You read?!" I asked amazed.
"Yes I read, vampires get bored too you know." He stated.
It was weird I never pegged Kol as the reading type.
Too my surprise, we were done packing for Kol in ten minutes.
"That's it?" I asked surprise.
"Yeah not all of us need a full wardrobe for a four day trip." He stated.
"Plus you guys don't get cold." I added.
He nodded grabbing the bag and walked downstairs.
"See some of us are strong and not lazy and carry their own bags." He stated.
"Well all done?" Klaus asked.
"Yup." Kol replied.
"Good, why don't you and Marie load up these in the car then come back?" Klaus asked more like a statement.
We both nodded and grabbed our bags.
When we got out to Klaus' SUV I thought about looking around at my surroundings. I don't want to have to wait to escape. Two weeks is just too long. The other thing was though, I need my car. If I want to put distance between Klaus and I, driving is the best way.
"What are you thinking about?" Kol asked suspiciously.
"Nothing in particular." I stated.
"Uh hu." He said as if he didn't believe me. "You can try as you might, but you will never truthly get rid of Klaus."
"Didn't Elena?" I asked.
"Elena never wanted to be a vampire. My sister Rebekah turned her to punish Klaus." He stated.
"But Klaus isn't in Elena's life anymore."
"But she didn't do it to herself. So don't go getting ideas. Klaus will make you pay." He warned.
As we walked back in Klaus was packing food.
"What's with all the food? I asked.
"Well love your human and might get hungry on the trip." He stated. "Kol will you go put this in the car."
Kol nodded as he took a huge cooler of food and drinks into the car.
"Ready to go love?" Klaus asked.
"I guess." I responded.
"Alright let's go."
