Chapter 3: Changes and Feelings

"I'm going to miss you Chlo," Ross says, tears streaming down his face. I give him a hug before turning around and walking to my mom who is waiting for me. I turn around and wave at them one last time before turning back around and heading over to my mom.

3 yearslater

"Honeybun, I'm home!," Mom yells while slamming the front door shut. I continue playing my game on my phone. I hear footsteps climbing the stairs and I sigh.

She stops right outside my room door, a huge smile on her face. "Guess what Honeybun?!" I look over at her and shrug.

"We...are....going....back...TO LA!!" I jump off my bed when she said the last part. My eyes go wide while her smile grows bigger.

"W-what?," I stammer nervously. She nods quickly.

"We are leaving in a week!" She walks back downstairs, leaving me in shock.

I am going back to LA. Back to Ross...and Rydel...and everyone else. I jump up from my bed and take my suitcases out of my closet and start packing all of my clothes, but leave a few out for the rest of the week. I pack everything I could, including some perfume but leaving one out, some makeup but leaving some out. I quickly get back on my bed and text Rydel.

I put my phone back on the bed and go downstairs. I hear my mom taking out her suitcases too and start packing.

The rest of the week passes quickly and before I know it...it's Monday morning. Our flight leaves at 12:00, so we have to leave at around 10:00. I drag my suitcases down the stairs and leave it by the front door. I quickly put on my black converse and finally see my mom come out of her room with a huge grin on her face.

"Dylan said he'll come with us too!" I roll my eyes at my mom's reaction but smile inside.

When we first came to Miami, my mom was very busy with her work but she ended meeting a guy there. His name was Dylan and him and mom immediately clicked on the first day. Dylan finally got some guts and asked her out and she said yes. Ever since then, they have been dating. I am very happy for her, truly. It's nice to see your mom move on after a heartbreaking car accident.

We walk out to the car and go and pick Dylan up so we can go to the airport. We arrive at the airport and we take all of our luggage inside and check in. When we pass through, I tell them that I'm going to Starbucks and I'll meet them later.

I walk over to Starbucks and order a caramel frap and then I sit down waiting for my order. I can't believe that I am going back to LA. I can't believe that I'm going to see Ross, Rydel, Riker and everyone else. Does Ross even still remember me? I've only been communicating with Rydel and sometimes Riker. I sigh and get up to go and get my order and walk over to my mom and Dylan.

"Flight RF356, you may board right now." I quickly jump and run over to the guy so he can check everything. I start walking into the plane, Mom and Dylan right behind me.

I walk over to our seats and sit down on the inside so Mom and Dylan can sit next to each other. I relax and close my eyes, waiting for the plane to take off.

"Honeybun, wake up..Chloe.." I slowly open my eyes and find out that we have landed. I quickly jump up and take my bag with me. Mom,who notices my excitement, silently laughs to herself.
