Avery
The minutes passed. Each second was agonizingly slow. Seconds felt like hours.
She was a coward.
There was no denying it. Avery had so many things in her life.
Why did she fuck it up like this. There was no fixing her.
She would only break. And she would shatter all around those who care.
So she had to make sure she had a minimal impact.
Or was she just trying to make the situation look better in her eyes?
To not feel so guilty? At first when the idea was brought in a heated argument, it felt wrong. She discarded it immediately.
She had a life, she had someone who cared about her and she cared back.
But as they talked about it calmly it finally made sense.
I'm going to a rehab center
That thought was scary. She knew it was for the best. It was a 2 year program, and then she would continue studying, living with her aunt.
She was leaving everything she knows.
She's leaving Michael.
The sweet boy who made her laugh and feel awkward.
The same boy who was haunted but she never had the nerve to ask why.
Maybe this is best. To leave before he trusts her. Because a betrayal like that would hurt a thousand times more.
She wasn't just leaving town. She was leaving the county. The U.S had very good recovery programs and her grandparents would gladly pay for it.
It was a help she couldn't dare turn down
And from an announcement that her flight was boarding, she got on and didn't look back
Maybe they would see each other again. they could meet again and they would both be better. And give this new feeling a try.
They both needes to focus on themselves or they might break.
It wasn't the right time now.
Maybe it would be soon.
