Seeing Kaneki like that...was terrifying... I never imagined that being a ghoul would change you so much.
I look up at the light blue sky and lean up against the wall of a nearby building.
I should probably get back to Anteiku... Maybe a talk with Kaneki would do some good?
"Hey, Kika! What's up?" A familiar voice says.
I look up and see that it's Hide.
"Oh my gosh... Hide!" I say as I give him a hug. "You look so different!"
"Nah. I haven't changed that much."
"Yeah right! You were a little shorty when we first met. Now look at you!"
"You've changed too you know. You look just like Kaneki. Well...with the exception of a few obvious things."
"Hide...
"What? I wasn't looking..."
"Better not..."
"And what if I was?"
Instead of giving him a worded answer, I just hit him on the head.
"Ow! What was that for...?"
"You're so adorable, Hide." I laugh.
Hints of pink spread across Hide's cheeks.
"See? You-"
A sudden flash of images appear but I'm not able to clearly see them all. Almost automatically, tears roll down my cheeks and onto the concrete floor below me.
"Hey... What's wrong?" He asks.
I don't know what to say... How can I explain this?
I turn away from him and wipe my eyes.
"I know something's up. I'm not leaving until you tell me." Hide says.
"I'm not even sure of what's going on!" I look at Hide. "Look... I'll talk to you later... Ok?"
I walk away and all I hear is a simple response from Hide.
"Alright."
