Chapter 17

"I really though Killua got some better idea other than us being separated like this", Gon mumbling alone. He's walking with a pouting face.

"Okay, how should I start this investigation now?" He look around him. Looking for anyone he can ask. He's thinking what type of person should he ask first? He saw one bulky looking guy walking towards the nearest pawn shop and he decided that is the first person he will approach. He run slowly to that guy and waves at him.

"Hello, sir. Can I have your time for a while?" As usual Gon will use his cuteness and innocent face whenever he's asking questions to people or to be precise, he is INNOCENT.

That bulky guy stop and looked at him. "Yes sure."

"Hmmm sir, sorry to bother you but by any chance do you know anything about the book of Nen?" Gon start asking.

That guy look confused. "Book of Nen...uhmm what is that?" Exactly like what Gon has expected, that guy totally have no idea what is that book of Nen is all about. He probably never heard of it for the whole of his life until Gon asked him today.

"Uhmm. It's okay sir, thank you so much for your time", he then left the guy and started to walk away.

"Arghhh! This is not a good idea, Killua. Definitely not a good idea." He sat on one bench and started to feel frustrated over Killua decision to let them find for some clues separately. He kicking out the snow under his feet. Suddenly he saw a guy wearing a dark sweater with hoodie walk passed him. He can sense some aura coming out from him. Although he can't use his nen anymore, Gon still have a little ability to sense the aura from one person. The aura isn't so strong. This level of aura can't even match to Killua even after 10 years of training but still this is a good progress on his investigation so far. At least he found someone who might care a bit about the book. Well, hopefully.

"That's kind of rare here. I thought nobody in this town can use nen", he quickly left his bench and decided to follow the guy. He try so hard not to attract attention although he is pretty sure that the guy definitely can sense him. So Gon is just pretending like he's checking out the town and little by little moving forward to go nearer to the unknown guy.

He continue following the guy until at the end of the shopping alley. He saw the guy turn to the left side of the alley. Gon quicken his move, afraid he might lose the guy but unfortunately once he turn left, he can only see a dead end. He try to look around him. Try to find for any clue. He touch the tall wall in front of him try to find is there's any opening. No luck.

Although there's no one there but Gon can smell a very strong smell of cigarettes. He started to feel suspicious.

"Maybe I should just follow the smell."

He use his nose to follow the smell. The smell brings him to the floor of the alley. The nearer he is to the floor, the stronger the smell.

"There's probably a hidden room down here".

He try to look for anything that he can press or pull in order to open up the hidden path. He saw one tiny stone with a hunter logo carved on it. He then press the stone and the floor suddenly move and reveal a ladder to go down to somewhere beyond the floor. The smell of cigarettes definitely come from that place since it is getting much stronger once the floor moved. Gon have no choice but to go down. If not, he might not get any information on the book. He slowly go down the ladder. He started to hear loud noise like they have some sort of party down there.

He reached to the bottom and saw many people in front of him drinking, eating chatting and some of them even dancing. All of them looks like a professional hunter to Gon. He can sense so many kind of aura around him. Suddenly he sense a familiar aura come from his back. It's the guy he's been following just now. He turn to his back and shocked to see the guy in front of him.

"What a kid like you doing here?"
