~Cerise P.O.V~

It was the final week of summer. I felt like there was so much to do, but no time left.

Don't get me wrong, I did do a lot this summer, but most of the things I did, wasn't what I wanted to do.  Since there wasn't that much time left, I asked my Mom if my family and I could go to the lake house for the week. It took a while, but I finally got her to say yes.

Now we, my family, were in the car, driving to the lake home.

"Hey Cerise, wanna go swimming when we get to the lake house?" My fourteen-year-old sister, Skylar asks and I turn to face her. She gives me a small, pleading smile and I nod.

"Sure, but we have to play some board games after. I really need to win my title back in Uno." I say and we both laugh. "Fine, but I will always win!" She says and I laugh even harder.

After I catch my breath, I return to the book I was reading just moments before.

I finish about fifty pages when we pull into the driveway.

"Okay everyone, out!" Mom says as we all hop out if the car. I walk towards the trunk and grab my bags.

I walk to the front door and wait for my parents to come with the keys. Once they unlock the door, I head straight towards my room. Well, the room that Skylar and I share.

Placing my stuff on my bed, Skylar does the same to hers. "We can go swimming after eating lunch," I say as we walk out the room together.

Once we get into the kitchen, we take a seat at the island counters.

"What's for lunch?" Skylar asks and I smile. Mom smiles as well. When she looks over at me, we begin to laugh, leaving a very confused Skylar sitting next to me.

"What's so funny? All I did was ask a question? How is that funny?" She asks and when I can talk clearly, I turn and face her.

"I use to do the same thing when I was little, except I wouldn't get a response so I just repeated the question over and over again, which annoyed Mom very much," I say and that's when Skylar starts to laugh as well. We all laugh again and that's when my dad walks into the kitchen.

"What's so funny?" he asks as we all come down from our continuous laughing fits.

"Just a little memory from the past," I say and smile at Skylar who does the same thing as well.

It's about 9:40 once Skylar and I finish getting ready for bed.
I flop onto my bed and stare at the ceiling. Thinking of what school's going to be like when we go back. I'll be a Senior and Skylar will be a Freshmen.

"I can't believe that I'm going to high school. I didn't want this summer to end. This is probably going to be the last one we spend together, and then you'll be in college next year." She says and I look up to a sad-faced Skylar.

"We may not be going to high school together, but that doesn't mean I won't be spending any more time with you. I promise I'll spend all my breaks with you and the rest of the family. Just know that I will always put you first. You're more important to me than anyone else in the world. I love you, Skylar." I say and she starts to cry.

"I love you to Cerise." She says and I pull her into a hug.

"I love you too. Now let's go to sleep so we can go bike riding in the morning." I say and she goes back onto her bed.

"Goodnight C." She says and I smile. "Goodnight Sky," I say and within seconds, I drift off to sleep.
