I stepped out of the car & looked at my school. It looks just like any ordinary school in my point of view to be honest. I examined the trees around it, even checked out every window, but all seemed fine.
"Doesn't look like a haunted school to me..."
"Did you say something Gracie?"
I was startled for a moment by my sister's voice. I suddenly forgot that I was with her. I quickly regained my senses & replied to her.
"Yeah I'm fine" – I even tried to give her a realistic smile.
"You know you've been acting quite weird since this morning...maybe you should skip my class this morning."
"Buut sis-"
"No little missy, I insist. Besides, all your classmates already know that you're not the type to skip classes. And it'll only be this morning. If you feel a bit better you can attend your afternoon classes with Mrs. Higgins & Mr. Anderson. But if you still don't feel fine, I'll tell them you're excused."
"O-ok...thanks sis"
"You're very welcome little one."
We then continued to walk towards the school building. My sister went to her office as I continued to go upstairs to the library. There was no other place in the school where I would love to stay forever, only in the library. I know you can call me a nerd or a bookworm or whatever you like... it's just that books are the best company to have with.
As usual the place was empty. Students nowadays prefer to be away from books due to the advancing technologies. I too love to be with gadgets but I prefer the peace & serenity I had whenever I'm reading books in the library. And as usual, Ms. Mary our school librarian is late again.
*sigh*
I went to the last section of the library where the old historical books can be found. Nobody ever ventured in that place but I liked it there. I grabbed the book I was reading yesterday & started reading it. I was so engrossed in reading when I suddenly heard a loud noise. I hurriedly took a peek to where I heard the noise. And to my surprise I saw tons of books scattered on the floor. My blood boiled. All the books in the cabinet under the art section had found its way on the floor creating a huge mountain of books.
"This is gonna take forever in cleaning"
I groaned internally & put both of my hands in my waist as I examine how on earth this has happened? But all my thinking came to a halt when I saw the pile moved. I was pretty sure I was all alone in the library.
"O-ouch! Geez...I can't believe I made a mess again"
I then saw a head slowly pop out from the pile. It looked like a male student. I carefully approached him as I didn't want to step on the books & create more damage in here.
"Do you need some help?" – I asked him.
He turned himself to face me & was wearing a look of shock. I too was confused with this student. He had a dark brown hair that wasn't very long, nor too short either. He had deep dark brown eyes that looked a bit sad but contrasted his pale, white porcelain skin. But what confused me the most was the fact that his uniform had a few scratches & holes in it. But his polo was completely white so I can tell that it's clearly been washed, but....why does his uniform seem....i don't really know how to explain it.
My confusion went to a halt as I heard a few more books land on the floor. Even the strange guy was startled by the minimal noise. I quickly stopped my brain from judging the student in front of me. After all it is my first time meeting him & staring at him is obviously not a polite thing to do. I reached out my hand as an attempt to help him get out of the pile books he was in. But he continued to stare at me, his deep brown eyes locked into mine that made him quite mysterious. And of course it made me feel quite awkward. Was there something on my face?
Harrold's POV:
I decided to come to the library to check out some books about sewing. There are tons of books in the library & I'm actually quite a bookworm myself. But I absolutely hate the librarian there. Ms. Mary Cullen who obviously had no interest in books. Often times I'll see her with random guys doing some unmentionable stuffs at the dark part of the library. Ugh...seriously that lady has no respect for books. Anyway, I can't go to the computer lab since I'm pretty sure there are students there & I'm pretty sure no one likes to visit the library nowadays. So here I am now at the art section looking for a sewing book.
"Men there sure are a lot of kinds of books related to sewing..." – I murmured to no one in particular.
I continued to scan books until I found the perfect one. Although I wouldn't quite call it perfect since it's placed on the higher part of the shelf. I internally groaned as I was too lazy to get a chair or something to help me get the book. Yes, my laziness meter is over 900000. And so I just decided to climb the shelf. I know, I know, I'm a genius xD... I stepped on the lower levels of the shelf & stretched my right hand towards the book. I could feel my finger touching the book when suddenly the lower level of the shelf broke. And of course I lost balance & fell but it didn't end there. The moment my butt touched the floor, I looked up to see hundreds of books flying towards me. And yes I was then buried under the pile of dusty old books. And of course it hurts as hell. Yes, I can still feel pain if that's what you're asking.
"O-ouch! Geez...I can't believe I made a mess again"
I squeezed myself up in order to breathe. Well I don't know if I can still breathe but...you get the idea.
"Do you need some help?"
I was startled by the sudden feminine voice. I turned to the direction of the voice but I immediately regretted it. My jaw dropped! I was so not ready for this... It was her! The love of my life! Wait what?? Did I just say LOVE?? I meant it was the same girl I saw before. She stretched her delicate hand to me & I was too slow to react. I knew she was offering help but I couldn't help but stare at her beautiful hazel eyes.
"U-Uhmm...are you okay?"
No I am obviously not okay, I got buried under a pile of old books & suddenly an angel came in front of me and saw me in this pitiful state. I AM NOT OKAY!! But actually as I stare at her eyes I do feel kinda okay. Suddenly I felt a pinch of hurt on top my head that immediately cut me out of my daydreaming. It was the darn sewing book I've been trying to get!
"Are you okay?"
I looked to see her concerned face. She's kinda cute actually...
"U-uhmm...Yeah....Yes I'm fine. Thank you for your concern" – crap...that sounded kinda bad.
"I'm Grace by the way. Are you a new student here? It's my first time seeing you here" – she flashed me a bright smile that immediately melted my heart.
Hold up! Wait one second... She can see me? And she can actually converse with me? What the hell was going on!! Was I dreaming? No, I don't think ghosts can dream.
"Uhmm...are you sure you're okay? You've been spacing out for quite some time now"
Darn it, I forgot that I've been staring at her!
"Would you like me to accompany you to the nurse's clinic?"
"Nah...that wouldn't be necessary since I'm a ghost"
. . .
~a moment of silence passed by & I suddenly felt like the heavens above hated me~
WHY THE HELL DID I SAY THAT!! Great...now she'll think I'm a weirdo. She gave me a confused look and I began to panic. I then suddenly thought of a wonderful idea. I flashed her my biggest smile then started to run towards the door and onto the halls until I was far far away from the library. And yes, I had to admit, that was the most stupid idea I had ever thought of... But I couldn't help but wonder how she saw me?? And I can't believe I forgot to take that darn sewing book with me!!!
"Ugh... I swear the heavens above hate me..."
I face palmed at my total stupidity and startedwalking back towards my room. And I actually thought that today would be a goodday...
