All I Want Is You

Chapter 5

When I woke up the next morning the first thing I notice is that for once I actually slept in without any interruptions. I glance at the clock besides my bed and smile when I see that it’s almost noon; new record time for sleeping in. Standing up I stretch and check myself in the mirror for any drool marks before slowly heading to the kitchen.

“Ah sleeping beauty finally decides to wake up.” John says smiling. “Good morning, I take it you slept well?”

“Yeah, I’m surprised you guys let me sleep this long. I thought for sure one of you guys would’ve woken me up with the usual annoying wake up call.” I pour myself some captain crunch; get the milk out of the refrigerator (which is right in the front so I won’t have to bend to get it I might add. Wonder who did that?) and sit on the opposite side of John at the table.

 “Yeah we had strict orders from Daniel to let you sleep in.” he says taking a big gulp from his cup.

“Really? That’s nice of him…” I say slowly trying to appear unfazed by the news.

“So do you still want to tell me nothing is going on between you two?” he says smirking, “And before you answer let me clue you in on something: we all saw you two dancing and making out yesterday at the bonfire. It was…intense, and you guys looked like you were about to have sex right there.”

I feel my face flush a little but I roll my eyes to seem like I could care less. “It’s a party, aren’t you suppose to dance and hook up with people? I would’ve offered to dance with you but you seemed a little busy.”

“I always have time for you Jade.” He says winking, “And I was surprised to see you two together considering you swear you can’t stand him.”

“Yeah, well it was just one night.” I mumble finishing off my cereal. “He’s not so bad to be around when he’s not trying to tell me what to do.”

“Well then I don’t think you guys will be getting along for a long time because if there’s one thing Daniel likes to do its’ telling us what to do.” John says laughing. “But then again, it’s kind of his job to boss us around so I don’t really think you can blame him.”

“Whatever.” I say standing up and putting my plate in the sink. “So what’s everyone doing today?”

“Daniel wants everyone to meet in the living room in an hour; he says he has something he needs to talk about, involving the pack.” He says standing up as well.

“Well what if I was still sleeping in an hour? Are you telling me no one would’ve woken me up and I’d miss this “important.” Meeting?” I say getting a little annoyed.

“No, Daniel said exactly one hour after whenever you woke up we would have the meeting. Looks like he’s taken a special liking to you” He says and then mumbles “He never held off a meeting for any of us.”

I don’t really know what to say to that so I just say silent. First he lets me sleep in and now he holds off a meeting till I wake up? This is a whole different side of Daniel that even the guys seemed surprised by. Once again I find myself wondering if he really is my mate and even though a part of me is scared by the thought, a bigger part of me feels like being with Daniel would truly make me happy.

“Um, so I’m going to get changed now.” I say backing out of the kitchen. John nods but looks like he wants to say something. I don’t wait around to hear what he wants though, I have enough thoughts and questions of my own that I can’t seem to answer. But first, I need to get ready for the pack meeting. And mentally prepare myself to seeing Daniel again since yesterday night.
