Chapter 15

A/N: Another really long chapter, I think this one is the longest yet. Hopefully this one doesn't fuck up when publishing. 😒

Zero gently woke up Grim and said, "time to go, wake up / I got missions from Moxxi / I have three in all." Grim pushed herself up and rested on her elbows. She said, "I'm up, I'm up, I'm up. So we got three jobs?" Zero nodded and Grim groggily said, "I can't believe you slept in that suit, isn't it uncomfortable?" Zero responded, "I wear this to hide / my face, why would I show you / what's under my mask?" Grim said, "cause ya love me?" Zero said, "No, I don't love you / let's just go already, Grim / I'm tired of waiting" Grim said, "okay, I have to go get ammo, I'll find you when I'm done."

Grim went to Marcus' and Zero went to Moxxi's bar.

Zero got to the bar, and surprisingly, only Axton was there. Zero sat right next to Axton at the bar. Axton asked, "did ya get any?" Zero said, "get any what?" Axton said, "did ya get da booty?" Axton nudged Zero with his elbow. Zero responded, "no, we're just friends" Axton said, "so your friendzoned?" Zero said, "I . . . Guess" Axton quietly laughed.

Grim walked through the door and said, "ya don't drink, yet I always find you at the bar. I'm ready to go." Zero nodded and got up from his bar stool. He walked past Grim and headed to the fast travel station. Axton winked at Grim and she walked out the bar while mumbling under her breath, "so that's why Zero was so quick to take me in."

Zero and Grim fast traveled to the Bloodshot Stronghold.

Zero said, "all we have to do is kill five people, which is why we have pizza. They really like pizza." Grim sweetly hummed, "dropped your haiku again." Zero said, "stop pointing it out / I forget sometimes okay? / just don't point it out!" Grim said, "so you do do that on purpose" Zero said, "do what?" Grim said, "form your sentences into haikus. Remember yesterday when you refused to answer my question? That's what I asked, and you basically answered my question just now." Zero dropped his haiku and said, "you got me, most of the time I only drop my haiku if what I want to say is very short" Grim said, "and you forget sometimes?" Zero nodded and Grim continued, "well, will you drop the haiku bullshit with me since I figured you out?!" Zero said, "it's not bullshit it's . . . well, it's kinda bullshit" Grim said, "we've been talking for a while, we should probably get going." Zero said, "agreed" and started walking.

Zero led the way through the Bloodshot Stronghold as they shot their way through the Damn until they got to the passage leading to the mission waypoint.

Grim stopped at the entrance and turned to Zero and said, "so all we have to do is kill five people?" Zero responded, "yes, it's pretty simple, but it's what Tannis wants done" Grim said, "alright, let's go then" Zero said, "ladies first."

Grim sprinted through the sewer pipe and jumped down a hole at the end, Zero followed closely behind.

They got to the mission waypoint and put the pizza they got from Moxxi on the table in the middle of the room. Zero and Grim heard a screech and raised their weapons. Grim had a Maliwan shock SMG, and Zero had a Dahl sniper rifle.

A rat dressed in purple named Leo leaped down from the roof, he crouched down and started screaming. Grim said, "they are on the roof, fire!" Grim started firing at the rat and Zero started shooting the ones on the ceiling. Soon enough, they all leaped to the ground and Grim killed the purple one.

There was a red one, blue one, and a orange one. "One of the rats are gone, and I killed the purple one" Grim shouted at Zero. Zero didn't respond, he suddenly started swinging his sword in a seemingly random pattern, missing all of the rats. Grim yelled, "Zero! Get your shit together, you're missing everyone!" Suddenly Zero disappeared and reappeared after slaughtering all of the remaining rats. Grim was so shocked she fell backwards and thought, "did he just Fucking teleport?!" Zero walked over to Grim, who was lying on the floor, and offered Grim a hand, he said, "on to the next mission." Grim grabbed his hand and he pulled her up. She wasn't expecting him to pull her up towards him and once she was up, she quickly tried to take a few steps back but tripped instead. Zero quickly grabbed her by putting his arm around her lower back and pulling her towards him. They were still standing and Grim was pressed against Zero's chest. They just stood there, silently.
