Chapter 17

A/N: Another long ass chapter, took so long to type up. I have about 34 chapters written down on paper, but I really hate typing and doing anything productive. Sorry!

They finally got to the Dust and decided to check on Ellie, and get a runner of course.

Zero stopped walking and said, "we are here, this is / Ellie. She watches over / the two clans in The Dust." Ellie said to Grim, "well aren't you just the cutest little thing!? Bout time Zero got himself a girlfriend; he always looks so lonely!" Grim introduced herself and asked, "so what about this clan war?" Ellie said, "neither of the clans like Sanctuary very much, so it's easier to have them focus on each other because you guys were focused on Hyperion" Ellie continued, "and while we're on that topic, I talked to Lilith and she said we could end the war! So when ya got time, swing by so we can end this!" Grim said, "we have to go get some rakkale for Mordecai first."

Zero and Grim spawned a Bandit Technical and said bye to Ellie. Zero drove, and Grim was in the very back on the left side of the technical.

Zero yelled from the front seat, "after this, we are going to hook you up to the New You Respawn Station and I'm having Scooter put you in the Catch-a-Ride station." Zero continued after a moment, "there's a moonshiner traveling through here on a caravan, all we have to do is shoot the barrels off of the top of the vehicle." Grim said, "I'll shoot, but you get to keep the vehicle steady."

They finally found the caravan at the Lynchwood train station, Grim shot three barrels off of the van until they were discovered. Zero chased the van as carefully as he could so Grim could get a clear shot, as she shot them loose, Zero drove close to them and Grim pulled them into the car.

Soon enough, they had ten barrels and a squished Grim. She yelled, "I think we have enough, there isn't anymore room!" Zero took a sharp turn into Ellie's place. Once the vehicle was slowed to a stop, Zero asked, "how many barrels are there?" Grim wiggled out of the car and said, "ten, we might have to take two trips" Zero said, "ugh, I can drag three behind me and you can drag three, maybe Delta can carry four?" Grim smirked as she said, "sorry, but she's a skag, she doesn't have working thumbs." Zero leaned on one leg and put his hand on his hip, he said, "that's not what I meant, smartass. I mean we could tie them onto her back" Grim whistled a little tune and Delta came running out of a broken down car. They strapped four barrels to Delta and Zero fast traveled to Sanctuary.

The two vault hunters arrived in Sanctuary and immediately got an echo recording from Moxxi, she said, "hey sugar, so Mordy still thinks he can drink away his problems, huh? All that bulldozer did was play with that bird instead of my . . . Of my . . . Never mind! Look, I'll strike you a deal, hun. Bring me the booze, and I'll give you Ruby." Mordecai interrupted by saying, "no, bring me the booze! That bimbo wouldn't even have Ruby if it weren't for me! I'll give you one of my old rifles!" Zero looked at Grim and said, "well, there is ten barrels, we can just give each of them 5 or get more." Axton walked up to Zero without Zero noticing and put his hand on Zero's shoulder. Axton said, "you dropped your haiku, buddy! That's a long sentence for you to say without your haiku!" Zero said, "I was not talking / to you, Axton. Go away / I'm talking to Grim." Axton responded, "okay, okay, I'm leaving. Sheesh!" Axton walked past Zero and winked at Grim, he said, "maybe we can go on missions together sometime?" Axton smirked and hurried off to the fast travel station. Zero was obviously angry at Axton's remark and charged after him. He was too late and Axton was already gone. Zero walked over and said, "don't feel too special. He also flirts with Lilith, Maya, and this Athena girl that stops in every now and then, and he was probably shit faced." Grim said, "so he's a fuckboy?" Zero responded, "I prefer the term man whore for him" Zero continued, "I'll give my barrels to Moxxi, you give yours to Mordecai and bring Delta with you. Give Mordecai 2 barrels from Delta, then send her over to me." Grim nodded and said, "meet back here when the deed is done." Zero nodded and walked to the bar.

Grim dragged her barrels behind her and Delta slowly followed, pushing Grim's barrels up the stairs with her head. Mordecai walked out and said, "yes! I knew you guys would pull through for me. Let me help you with those." He grabbed the barrels from Grim and she stepped out of the way. Mordecai stared at the skag and said, "that's one strong skag." He leaned down and scratched underneath her head.

Grim said, "I think she likes you, I don't know. Her 'i like you' and 'i wanna eat you' face look alike." Mordy laughed and carried the barrels into the safe room. He put the booze in front of the safe. Grim said, "you can have two of the barrels from Delta, the other two go to Moxxi" Mordy said, "heh, give me five barrels and give that bitch two, I think I like you, newbie." Grim didn't want to let Mordy down so she didn't tell him about Zero's barrels.

After Mordecai adjusted the other two barrels he turned to Grim and said, "so how has Zero been? He has been dropping his haiku a lot since you've been here, and usually he refuses help on even the hardest missions and you came with him to kill five rats" Grim seemed surprised by the fact that Mordecai cares that much about him, she thought, "I guess these guys are really like one big family." She said, "he does seem to let his guard down with me, which he doesn't seem to do with the others. I guess he's just comfortable with me." Mordecai looked into the other room and said, "maybe."

Grim commanded Delta to go to Zero, and Grim waited at the spot where they were supposed to meet. Zero showed up after a couple minutes.

Zero said, "well, that day went by fast" he looked at the sky and continued, "Lilith seems to be out of it still, so I guess I'll house you for another day." Grim said, "I'm fine with that" and followed Zero to his place.Once they got into bed, they both felt right to sleep.
