Canons roared outside the door, and I could hear the scattered foot falls of the crew. It wasn't long before I heard the clash of swords and screams from men to tell me that we were under attack. The ship rocked to the side and I could tell that we had received a blow to the side of our vessel.  Something hit the the door from the other side and I quickly scurried over to the desk and grabbed a silver candle stick that sat atop it. Another loud thud sounded of the opposite side of the door and made the door quake followed by more loud bangs and thuds. The banging on the door came in quick pulses and I knew it wasn't going to be to much longer before the door would give way to what ever or whom ever wanted inside. I scanned the room for a hiding place but was disappointed when I realized that the room didn't have much of a selection. In hopes of buying some time I put a chair up against the door while I tried to hide under the bed, but the bed frame was to close to the ground and I could not squeeze under it. Moving to plan 'B' i went and hid in the wardrobe even though it was the most obvious hiding place. I moved to the back and tried to hide among the cloths that hung down in front of me. I breathed quick shallow breaths as the door collapsed, I place a cold clammy hand over my mouth trying to keep the intruder form discovering my hiding place, while I held the candle stick firmly in my hand. I looked down at my weapon and saw my knuckles turning white and my hand started shaking rapidly.

Slow heavy footsteps moved about the room and I could hear drawers opening and closing, as well as the shuffling of papers. I could hear things breaking and being pushed around when something hit and shattered against the wardrobe. I let out a small squeak of fear when everything went quiet. I sat and waited a few minutes in the wardrobe afraid to step out in the room, I listened for any other disturbances in the room but could hear non, who ever it was must have left. Setting down the candle stick  I moved to the front of the wardrobe doors and opened one side just enough so I could see through a small crack, the room was a mess but it looked empty. Deciding that it was probably okay for me to come out I slowly opened the door wider and stepped out into the dark room, when I heard a low chuckle. Turning around I saw a dark silhouette standing in the door way, and knew immediately that the man I was looking at was not part of the crew.

"So you is what Obsidian be protectin, your the treasure." He laughed.

"Who-who are are you?' I choked out. The man stepped further into the room and I could see him more clearly. He was taller than me and looked to be in his fifties, his long greasy grey hair was entangled with his salt and peppered beard, one shoulder seemed to sit higher up then the other, along with a long thin scar that ran down the side of his face and across a ghostly eye. But it wasn't just his figure that made me want to run and hide. It was the devilish smile that he held on his face that put me on edge.

"Best ta not be asking questions now, come with me now." he ordered.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." I stated backing up into a the corner of the room.

"You misunderstood me it wasn't an option." He quickly moved towards me, with some quick thinking i grabbed whatever was closest to me and hit the dirty man on the head, but that didn't seem to stop him it just made him angry. I threw another blow to his face this time that made his lip bleed but he still kept coming after me. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder and started to walk out of the room at a fast pace. I kicked, bite and screamed but nothing I tried worked. Another man fell in step with my captor as the war raged on between men out on the deck of the ship. "Gag her! She will cause a scene." The hefty man nodded and ripped a piece of cloth from his dirty shirt and tied it to my mouth. We drew nearer to the side of the ship, I had no desire to be on someone else's ship especially with these barbaric men I struggled to be set free but nothing worked. The man stepped up on the side of the railing just when I heard another gun shot and I felt his grip slip, my stomach lurched as we fell over the side of the ship and I let out a muffled scream. I closed my eyes prepared to hit the cold water but I felt a swooping motion and I opened my eyes  surprised that I hadn't felt the cold of the water touch my skin.
