Tammy's POV
"Miss Tammy, do you know the answer to number eight" Mrs. Cohern asks me.
"Force equals 4" I easily answer.
"That's why you're my all-star student" she smiles.
The bell rings, and I quickly pack my backpack with my belongings and walk to the lunch room.
"How have you been" Krystal asks me when she sits down.
"Fine, why" I ask confused.
She never asks me that question.
"I don't know. You've just been quiet all morning" she confesses.
"Have I?" I say with my own realization.
I continue eating my apples and strawberries.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute" I look up to see Grayson.
Before I could open my mouth to say no, Krystal answers for me.
"Of course you can! I'll just leave lunch early" Krystal packs up her lunch and leaves.
I shoot her a death glare before she fully exits the lunch room.
"Did you get my flowers" Grayson takes a seat down next to me.
"Yes I did" I answer.
"Anddd..." he pauses.
"I threw them in the trash" I shrug my shoulders.
His face immediately drops.
"Please Tammy. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me" he holds my hands.
"I forgive you" I pull my hands out from his grasp.
His face fills with relief.
"Just so you can finally leave me alone" I grab my lunch and leave.
---
"Late again, Dolan? Detention" Mr. Dods hands Grayson a slip.
Grayson sighs and sits down in his assign seat.
"Does anyone know what caused the Vietnam War" Mr. Dods asks.
"I'm sorry Tammy" Grayson whispers.
"I-" I get cut off.
"Miss Lane, speaking when I'm talking? Detention" Mr. Dods hands me a slip.
I did not just get a detention because of Grayson.
"Asshole" I whisper to Grayson.
---
I place all of the books and binders that I don't need back into my locker.
