Chapter 20

JASON'S POV:

"Alright Jason, let's cut to the chase. Do you really like my Maria?" Quinn asked.

"Your Maria?" I questioned.

"Yes, my Maria, as in my friend. Close friend." she replied with her arms crossed as she looked at me with a serious expression.

"Of course I like Maria, she's beautiful, sweet, amazing, and her personality is just.. breathtaking." I replied sighing in awe.

"Then why are you taking so long to make her yours?" she asked.

"I'm just waiting for the right time, I can't just ask her out of--" Quinn cut me off.

"Hunter likes Maria as well. I can tell." she said disrupting what I was gonna say.

"Well, considering you're telling me this I guess you're siding with me?" I asked.

"I'm only siding with you because you're the one she really likes." she replied. "I tried to make sure she didn't go out with Hunter, but I think she did." she added.

"Why would she though?" I asked.

"She said something about Hunter being her friend, and it being just two friends hanging out." she replied making a thinking face.

"I'm not worried," I replied with a small smirk.

"And why is that?" she questioned looking at me as if I had no idea what I was saying.

"Because. He can try his hardest to win Maria over, but in the end, it's always gonna be me she chooses." I replied with a confident smile.

"I guess that's true.. but what if he actually wins her over?" Quinn asked.

"Then I guess she never really liked me, and it was him whom she liked a lot more." I replied.

"And you'd be perfectly fine with that?" she asked.

I sighed, "Not at all, but if Hunter makes her happier than me then there's nothing I can do about it."
