Elliot's POV
Olivia's return was sudden. I don't even know who gave her our apartment address, but it was somewhat creepy! Someone in the gang probably told her about the entire thing. I mean, if I was informed that my friend was murdered, I would arrive immediately.
We brought Olivia to the couch and sat around her. "So, how did it happen?" She asked in a quiet voice.
The room went silent. Michelle looked to the ground. She was also the only one to respond. "I don't think we should talk about it. It was traumatizing. That's all." She told her.
It was traumatizing for all of us, but for Michelle, she was in fact the most traumatized out of all of us pertaining to Chris's death. I mean, she was right in front of him when it happened.
"Oh.. I understand." Olivia said back. Her eyes started to water up. "I just.... didn't know this would ever happen." She started sobbing. All of us gave her a warm hug. Everything has been so overwhelming lately. I cannot seem to stress that thought enough.
"Thanks guys." She said. "For what?" Juno asked her while she was wiping her eyes with her fingers. "For welcoming me back here. After all those years of silence. I didn't know you'd bring me into this place."
I nodded my head and blankly smiled.
The night grew over the skies, so we decided to get some rest.
Little did I know, the night would be longer than I expected.
Michelle POV
The apartment inside was slumber by 8PM. I understood the quietness, we didn't get rest for how long already. It's tiring.
For some reason though, I decided not to sleep until later.
Earlier, Nikita packed some clothes to head off to Luci's funeral. Juno ended up being the one to drop her off to wherever she had to go, being that good best friend and all.
Elliot and Ken shared a room. It was suspiciously quiet in there.
Olivia went outside to smoke a cigarette.
And I, Michelle Vergara, decide to stay in the cozy living room. It was a safe haven to me. At this point, I decided to stay awake until at least 9PM.
The only thing that was on TV was some Soap Opra. I was so irritated, like aren't good shows on by this time?
"Don't you dare come back to me after cheating!" One of the actresses said. "I can't leave you Joy! Please!"
This Opra film just became EXTRA boring when the girl threatened the man with a gun.
I noticed myself falling asleep.
My eyes started to droop shut..
An Hour & 1/2 Later
I was having the best slumber on the couch with a warm and fuzzy comforter.
And then I heard the doorbell ring. Before I got up to check, I looked around me to find any sign of Olivia. She wasn't anywhere to be seen, and neither was Juno. She probably didn't come back yet, but what would take her so long to drop Nikita off to wherever they were heading to? When Luci's funeral should be held in the same state?
I opened the door to Ken and Elliot's room. They were sleeping on the same bed, but Elliot was sleeping on the far end, probably because Ken was shirtless.
I made my way downstairs, and eventually to the door.
I must've took way too long looking for Olivia and Juno, because whoever rang the bell was gone.
I stayed at the doorway and left the door wide open. I looked around to see if anyone was there, but it was clear.
My phone which was in my hand, started vibrating. Someone was calling, and when I took a look, it was from a private number.
"Hello?" The other half of the line was quiet. I looked around again.
It was silent for a few seconds, and then the line went static. "Hello Michelle." The distorted voice greeted. I was immediately returned with a chill down my spine.
"Who's this?" I said back. I was so confused why the voice sounded so creepy and weird and robotic in so many ways.
"Your worst nightmare."
I was silent. I didn't get the memo right away, but the connection clicked almost instantly.
"Listen, you sick fuck, if you do anything to my friends I'll-"
The caller interrupted me. I knew the person on the other side of the line was the mastermind of all of this. All of the disgusting, cruel, and merciless murders.
"You'll what? Kill me? That's my job! Right now, your job is to answer my question."
"What is it." I replied with a straightforward voice.
"I'm going to give you a choice!"
"A choice?" I asked while looking around the area to see if anyone was there.
"Yes! You're gonna have to choose which slut deserves to live!" The caller snickered.
"What are you saying?!" I knew what he wanted it was OBVIOUS. I just didn't want to figure out the truth.
"I'm saying to choose which life is worth keeping."
"And who...who am I gonna choose?"
I didn't want to choose anyone. I didn't want anyone to die. Not anymore. Not ever. The silence was indescribably suspenseful.
"Slut number one on the chopping block, OLIVIA!" The killer/caller said.
I covered my mouth in dismay. "And the other?" I held my breath.
"Slut number two on the list? JUNO WOODS!"
I knelt down to the floor in agony. I didn't want to choose. Two of my friends' lives were in my hands, and I would have to let go of one of them.
"You bastard!" I shouted to the caller while pulling my hair.
"If you don't choose, I'll have to kill the two boys in the bedroom, then the girls, and then Kit at the church. You'll be my last meat if you don't say a name!" The killer let me have his sick remarks.
I did in fact realize that Juno was in more danger, and I assumed Olivia was somewhere safe, like a bar.
"DON'T HURT JUNO!" I should've held my tongue, and at the same time I shouldn't have.
"Good."
The call ended, and I realized I made an awful and unforgiving mistake.
Practically, I made it clear to the caller that Juno shouldn't be hurt under any circumstances.
Technically? I made a choice between the lives of all my friends, and the life of one.
I don't know what's going to happen now, but I know it's going to be a mess.
Time to play the waiting game.
