Friends Forever?

After Jaiden has left to go home and prepare for the reaping Nick and I sit in the back alley.

"So do you really think Jaiden is the one. The one you that is perfect for you?" Nick asks this in a weird way. I'm almost worried he likes me.

"I think Jaiden is cool he is nice and he may be my crush but everyone has a crush right." I ask him trying to see if he will admit to liking me.

"Some people have a crush that is someone they never saw in that way and don't realize it until after being with that person for so long."

"Nick am I your crush." I ask scared of his response.

"Brenna there is a long history between us and sometimes when I'm with you I wish Jaiden didn't exist because I think you and I are perfect but when I see you and Jaiden together you two are also perfect so I get confused and upset because he can put your life in so much danger. And all he does his brain wash girls and when he brings them behind the school house he will kiss you and just run away fast than ignore you for the rest of your life that's what he did to my sister and your sister." Nick says but I can tell that's not the whole story it's just part.

"How does he endanger my life?" I ask cuz I love Nicks reasonable responses.

"Well for example the murder. I if he saw you the murder would have came after you and that could put you in a life threatening position or what if you missed that is also what could have happened. I'm glad you killed the murder but I would have had a knife ready in my hand if I were Jaiden or thrown you out of the way and shot myself." He says with a smile but is still being serious.

"Well I'm glad to know you would protect me." I say with a smile to but I know now that my life might change in the next couple of hours. It is reaping day.
