Soo-Yoon wakes up in the morning and does her routine of taking a shower and picking out her clothes. She gets her shirt on and looks at herself in the mirror. She tilts her head and gets closer to the mirror.
Should she put on some makeup?
Soo-Yoon's eyes widen at the thought and she slaps herself.
Bad thought! Bad! Bad! Bad! She is just meeting Amias again after a week. For all she knows he's going to call her a 'Chink' again and drag her to some other unknown location. Besides, if she did want some makeup she would have to borrow some from Edith. It has also been a long time since she's put on makeup so she would have to get her help. Which would then lead to the situation of Edith questioning her; Soo-Yoon does not want that to happen.
She walks out of her room with her bag and into the living room to see Edith already watching television.
“I'm going out to the library today,” Soo-Yoon says.
“Study Hermit!” Edith yells from the couch.
Coldblooded, Soo-Yoon think in her head.
The library was always a second home for Soo-Yoon. She first started her visits to the public facility when she was little. At that time her parents were going through their divorce, she would make the excuse to go to the library so she can avoid hearing their screams. Soo-Yoon then kept on visiting the place out of habit, soon that formed to a duty as she would always want to study for her parents.
Soo-Yoon stops in her tracks, and stands in the middle of the street.
She always studied for her parents. She knew it, but it wasn't fully conscious in her head that she did. Amias was silent during her outburst that night. She was sure he would at least sneer at her, but all he did was give no emotion. She can't deny now that she wants to know more about him. It was like almost completing a Rubik’s cube, she was so close to figuring out Amias she couldn't leave him alone now.
Or was the broken string affecting her? That was also an idea that played in her head. Maybe their incomplete string is the reason why she wants to figure him out.
The possibility of her being romantically interested in him still made her shiver. She never understood why girls swoon over bad boys. She didn't get the appeal of a man that could potentially kill you.
While starting to walk again she feels someone tug on her sleeve. Soo-Yoon turns to face them, but the person pushes her forward. That was when she felt a metal object being pressed to her back.
“Don't turn around, and keep walking forward until I say so,” A male voice says.
Soo-Yoon could feel her heartbeat race and her breathing increase. She hopes that this is just one of Amias' lackeys. Soo-Yoon moves forward like the person said, but at the same time her eyes were looking everywhere. She tries to find a way to out run him, or at least create a distraction. It isn't possible the person behind her works for Amias. Why would he not want her to see his face? Still, there wasn't much she could possibly do with a man pointing a gun on her back.
